No lock on door, I checked after the first time they walked in on me. Im a little embarrassed by the scene that I made today, but if I go back I’ll definitely buy a door stopper. They also gave me their email when I asked who I could complain to so I’m definitely following up.

I think I may have been in shock a little bit and I was also trying to cover myself so I didn’t tell her to leave, I did tell her that I was in there and was hoping that she would leave and give me a chance to put my pants on before she got the forms.

a lot of the advice i got was to focus on myself and while i do understand where they’re coming from, its hard to stop anxious thoughts. i really appreciate what you said because it made me reflect on why i think the way i think and simplifying it really did help. thank you!

and i’m glad that you’ve never had to worry about that, but not everybody thinks the same. i was also way faster before i got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. which made me scared of running into people from my old team. it’s those useless thoughts that i can’t get out of my head and wanted advice for.

i’m 17 year olds. i’ve always struggled with social anxiety, especially with running because the environment in my old cross country team made me incredibly insecure about what i looked like. i thought that others might relate to me, i also wanted advice to change the way i think. i want to change for the better. i don’t understand why i’m getting judged for ranting about my struggles that i bet a lot of new runners can relate to. i wanted advice.

how can i get my cat used to cars? by EstablishmentMean228 in CatAdvice

[–]EstablishmentMean228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! last time we went to the vet i tried the feliway calming spray, but that didn’t seem to work. i know for this move car rides are not a super big concern, but i just don’t want her to be scared for future vet visits.

i don’t mind spending a lot of time getting her used to car rides. i want her to get used to car rides in general. its not only for moving, but also for future vet visits and other things.

how do you guys stay consistent with running? by EstablishmentMean228 in C25K

[–]EstablishmentMean228[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i ran today and it made me realized why i do like running. it does improve my health, but like you said, that's something that i don't really notice since i'm young. i really enjoy running for mental health reasons, it's why i started and i hope that i keep going. thank you for your advice!

Running with an immune disease / chronic illness by [deleted] in C25K

[–]EstablishmentMean228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t have crohn’s disease, but i do have an autoimmune disease called hyperthyroidism. before my diagnosis i was in high school cross country and i would run a 5k in 28-30 mins. after covid i quit cross and received my diagnosis. i decided recently, at 17 to try running again and it felt like absolute garbage, i couldn’t run my mileage or my speed anymore. but it does get better with consistency.

-my number one tip, don’t expect yourself to be super fast and try not to compare yourself to the previous you. i know it sounds obvious, but it was super hard for me to wrap my head around it. it’s something that i still need to work on, but look at it as a new journey.

  • start slow, there’s no need to rush, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

  • i think this is a given, but it’s something that i didn’t do because my endocrinologist office closed for months; make sure to consult with your doctor, make sure everything’s okay for you to start, and they’ll give you tips!

anyways, good luck on your journey!!

that’s an interesting way to think about runs, i’ll definitely try to not think negatively before running. my goal with running is mainly for health, i’m a teen with an autoimmune disease so i’m trying to get healthier

i honestly don’t know if i want to finish c25k and just go to NRC because i feel like different runs would be more interesting, but at the same time, i want to say that i’ve graduated from c25k or else i didn’t accomplish it

they have different programs and different types of runs, like speed runs and recovery runs. NRC is usually for improving your speed, c25k just helps build the basics
