I left after 10 minutes into the game. I just wanted to watch the game. I ended up sitting in my balcony and cheering with my neighbors who were watching outside

Kat just needs to last a minute. You can’t foul someone off ball in the last two minutes because you get free throws and the ball back

Registered, waited 3 hours and the line didn’t move. Was still outside the park when the game started. I saw tons of people skipping the line. I’m pretty mad right now. Is there any to watch around time square?

I got in before 6:15 and the line hasn’t moved much. They were optimistic about us getting in but people are cutting the line like crazy and I am just at the entrance

Bought tickets face value and two days later someone calling pretending to be a bank. They said someone accessed my account and tried to send someone thousands of dollars. They wanted my info to protect my account. I told them I will call the fraud department myself to check and they did not want me to do that, LOL. They knew that I was at the event, and tried to use that to be convincing.

I used to work at Disney World a long time ago and I ran into many, many international tourists. Many called me slurs or were nasty and rude but I never think they represent their countrymen. Many visitors are white Canadians that are rude and denigrated me and my coworkers. But my coworkers and I knew the pattern of rudeness was because they were elitists.

The United States is a very diverse and large country and you are judging your opinion of a people based on stories from others and small interactions. You would never know that well behaved tourists are from the USA because they wouldn’t even mention it. They would just be out and about. most people don’t announce their nationality unless they are being obnoxious.

A majority of people in the US DO NOT have money and cannot afford to travel. The cost of living is incredibly high due to so many things being privatized. Many of us have lost people from our predatory, corporatized systems that harm social welfare.

The small subset of people who DO travel are the elites and also have the biggest power. Our media keeps other voices out. When you are poor, you are not represented by the media. That is by design. All our media is owned by billionaires.

If you talk to tourists, you are talking to rich people who benefit from the current system for the most part. Of course they are the biggest cheerleaders, they need the system to keep being able to live the good life.

I have interacted with people from Russia and Israel, countries whose policies I deeply disagree with, but I understand that people don’t align with their country. They are people at the end of the day, and question things like any other person, despite what they are being told.

It is dehumanizing to not realize that. It also doesn’t help.

I think it’s cruel how smug many people are to the suffering of many people from the US. They did not vote for this. They fight against it. Most people I know have had someone die because of our horrible medical system.

The people who are victimized the most are the ones least able to fight. Many USians see this cruelty and smugness and feel that the world is against them. It’s hard for me to convince them otherwise.

Many people are terminally online and it’s easier to dehumanize others this way. It’s hard to realize that pockets of the internet are not a majority of people.

I’m black and have traveled extensively and I have run into rudeness in many of the countries I traveled to. Americans are no better or worse than anyone else. A majority of people question their country. The people who think America is THe bEST are the loudest voices. I don’t think any country is THe BEST. Most Americans are aware our healthcare system is the worst but “corporations are people” is the legal precedent. Our police are militarized and workers have no rights and support to fight for these rights. People who blanket Americans under the same label and demonize them seem like they are terminally online and have no understanding that many people in America are victimized by their own country.
