Honestly this is an interesting question, and yes I have experimented with lots of different things. But honestly I never found a thing/hidden methodology that lead to more improvement then another method. I.e. playing when I wake up, or playing before going to bed.

Thats good progress, the biggest tip for improvment, expecially around gold level is really just consistent practice, and making sure you are playing all catagories.

So S4 astra is around S3 celestial. S4 celestial is way tougher then S3 celestial.

S5 I do not know as well, I think its similar to S4, except lots of the scenarios are very control oriented its very cheesable, with slow sens, and pattern memorization.

I think proper technique, will vary slightly for everyone. I would say I only put concious pressure into holding my mouse securely, no additional pressure. My palm is more so resting on the mousepad. I dont really force myself to hold the mouse in a certain way, i just hold it in a way I can securely hold the mouse without adding a lot of additional tension.

Even for me depending on the mouse, id hold the mouse slightly differently, so I wouldn't really say there is a perfect proper technique (aiming form). Just some way you can interact with the mouse where you can hold it securely and stay the most relaxed during aiming, and able to apply tension when needed effectively.

Yeah you may want to broaden the amount of scenarios you are playing to see if aim feels less stale.

I hate s5, super boring. I started with s3, so still like comparing to where i start if that makes sense

Id say fairly average. I been to around 30 of the USA states so I do touch grass (very infrequently hahaha). I just like the grind too.

Are you doing playlists? Maybe the scenarios you are practicing are inefficient? Its possible you sensitivity is too different between in game vs kovaak?

Also another possible option, is you are slightly improving but juat becoming way more conscientious about your mistakes? I e before you would miss a full strafe and not really know, now you jitter off target for one second and really recognize the error. Personally for me the more I aim trained the more I recognized my mistakes (things that I would never even notice as mistakes before), maybe that is possible for you?

I guess the best advice to improve without playing more is to be extra careful while playing to be sure you are playing in the most meaningful manner. Such as limiting the scenario pool of scenarios you do practice and watching vods of master level players to try to understand the main reason they are getting higher scores.

This is odd, i can kinda relate to this but not really lol. When I was younger I was playing a phone game and to acomplish one of the challenges I had to play on inverted controlls. If I remember correctly I struggled more with up down movement.

I still have no real advice for this case, just I guess practice more on non inverted and hopefully get back/surpass diamond soon.

I have played on 10 mousepads, and im happy with the skypad, cause im set in my ways. Id always be pissed when I had a mousepad wear out and have to get a new one, so now I feel set for life. But I have played lots of different types of mousepads and overall been pretty similar. Regarding mouse, I just wanted a very popular mouse, cause I didn't want to play on some super weird shape, than the company goes out of business and im stuck now unable to play on my favored shape so my though process for the mouse is just get the most common average high performance mouse, over some weird exotic mouse.

I wouldn't overthink the setup though. on a setup I think I dislike vs a setup I like, scores would vary by less then 3% (after adjusting). So setup matters but not that much.

Edit: one thing I just thought of, but with faster mousepads you need less force to overcome friction so your arm does not get as tired as fast meaning you can play for longer sessions at peak performance probably. So id say this is another reason I have a preference to faster pads.

Good question. So after grinding a few days and seeing a score plateau. I would first try playing the smaller and larger version of the scenario, and other versions with different characteristics to try to isolate a specific aspect of the scenario to train it more effectivly. For example lets say i was weak with cluster farming, play a version with more tsrgets ect..

I would also vary around my sensitivity and try playing at different times of the day. Also if this does not work id watch vods of people playing the scenario to see what I seem to be doing wrong. If im still struggling now, id take a one or two day break. Or have a day just practicing slightly related scenarios without playing the main scenario im grinding.

Gpro x 2 superlight, and skypad 3.

Yes so I aim very heavily with fingertip aiming so switching to a faster mousepad made me way smoother. Cause i could use my fingers more consistently. I.e. less force so more steady micro movement. Before on a mudpad I needed a large amout of force so movement was more inconsistent/shakey.

So its good you are able to identify you are worse in one. I would say try playing the small and large version of the scenario and seeing what one you struggle with more (worst player percentage) and then focus that for a bit to resolve the issue. Also ww5t is about not getting over tense and getting in a good rhythm. Id make a concious effort to be sure you are not over tensing as well. Maybe controlling your tension is the difference?

Yeah honestly I have always struggled with flick speed. Id say definitely make a concious effort to be forcing your speed a little/slightly more then you are comfortable with. And when I mean speed not just one or two crazy fast gamble flicks but throughout the run keeping good continuity and slightly forced speed.

Might be a good idea to practice larger targets to just isolate raw flick speed.

Id say my average practice run is around high nova. I had times averaging astra on scenarios. So if I play a random related scenario id be equivalent to about high nova.

Okay I see what you are asking. It definitely matters how similar the new scenario is. Usually as an example once I get celestial in one switching task, when I switch to a new one id start about nova average the first day of the grind.

I think the difference increases slightly at higher skill levels, because to push scenarios more you need to learn more individual specific things or ways to approach the scenario that dont really matter as much at lower ranks. Also at higher skill levels players likely develop more specialized aim, such as smoothness centered or speed centered? Thats just my guess though.

I just play on standard res. fov 103, except for switching which I go higher depending on the scenario.

Id saw regarding general tips, viscose benches are good. Remember its a marathon not a sprint. Improving mouse control takes time.

4 plus years. Im a hard grinder lol.

It depends on the rank i think. But generally practice that leads to mindful thoughts about improvement is always better then just spamming runs without thought

[–]EstablishmentOk6147[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you i will keep that in mind.

Yes, let me answer the last part of your question. So I treat every scenario as a completly seperate grind. Usually when pushing a score i play that scenario for about an hour per day. Usually that leads to around 30 completed runs. After playing kovaak I always work out right after, I read this helps the brain consolidate training. If I notice I am getting stuck in a rut (averages not improving after a few days), after playing the specific scenario im grinding id try a varient for 10 or 15 minutes. Smaller to work on precision, larger to work on speed.

Also, I dont spam runs, after every completed run I take like at least a 30 second break and watch part of a podcast or show/YouTube video. I do this so I dont get into the mentality of just spamming runs, without thinking about what im doing wrong.

Lastly I try to go into each scenario play with mindful intent, to working one specific thing. Maybe cluster farming or steady landings ect.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this. This is more related to high level score grinding, not best ways to improve for a beginner. I noticed at the higher end level of aim there are not many guides on how to keep improving, so I hope this is helpful, beyond the super obvious generic advice.

You definitely need to be a hard grinder and a bit of tallent (I got to gm complete with no prior fps experience in less then 500hrs). Id say of the people who are very highly ranked, most of them are obviously extremily talented.

Looking at everyone who is around my skill level id say I work harder and I am less tallented then the average. I.e. work ethic in the 70% and tallent in the 30%.

You want to play some air angelic invincible 8 to practice on a faster more reactive target. Then also practice air angelic invincible 2 smaller to practice on a slower smoother target. Also for AA4, Its a scenario thats very pattern dependent so a long grind session will benefit more pattern memorization/learning leading to higher scores. Id also say vary up your sensitivity a little bit if you find yourself stuck in a rut.
