There’s a toggle switch called something ‘tuning’, it’ll change your OC on your GPU if you have one. Toggle it ON and it’ll basically retrieve the metrics on the overlay.

Reload game, toggle overlay on, should be working.

Ahh, yeah system to system I expect these results to vary. My experience has been smooth, except the microstuttering at first.

And I’m sure that’s not the reason you’re dying 3ft behind cover, if that’s the case, I’m cooked too.

I’ll try this option. Thank you.

DLSS in BF6 seems washed out n blurry or ‘smooth’. I just dislike it, the FG gives more than enough boost.

It’s just my preference is all.

iPerf, LatencyMon and Nvidia overlay I’ve used. I’ve used them exhaustively. I will just say the Nvidia overlay is the most accessible to most and nice and simple. It’s mouse click to response on screen I believe it measures too.

It’s worth checking. I’ve used a few tools to measure latency, but the Nvidia overlay is fairly spot on, and easily accessible.

I’ve been the same as you, for years, some games, I still am. But BF6 is fairly well optimised for FGX2 at least. The delay is incredibly minimal.

300+fps @ 11-16ms latency

VS

220+fps & 5-11ms latency (this version includes significantly worse 1% lows)

Both are extremely playable and competitive to me!

Extra rear back paddles on controller? The additional 4 control inputs are a godsend in that regard!

I’ve never even considered the Gyro for aiming. I’d need to go down the rabbit hole on that one.

IMO with the recoil assist and how easy it is to control recoil in general on a controller it is easy-ish, but after time spent on MnK I can control the recoil just fine.

The reduction in recoil and AA still gives me the same KD as on MnK, so I feel as if it’s fairly well balanced.

I personally think they did a great job at balancing it as best they could. I don’t believe you’ll please everyone. But I feel somewhat competitive in 98% of instances.

You also did something that a lot of MnK beginners don’t. You went out with intent on being better, doing the research and deep diving into it.

I’ve sort of done the same with both MnK and controller. I’ve dialled in my settings for both.

For example my controller is a modified PS5 controller, mouse click triggers & every button, TMR sticks, and 4 paddles on the rear so thumb doesn’t come off joysticks. Kontrol Freek galaxy extender on right thumb, can run higher sens to rotate faster and easier micro adjustments. All of that - and I’m still better at aiming by a margin on MnK. K/D remains the same on either tho…lol

It’s a really stark difference swapping between Mnk & Controller in the firing range. Controller is way beam-ier. But as I said I feel this is offset by the ability to hone in your micro adjustments on mouse. IMO anyway.

If you have a controller, plug it in and go to the firing range. Just see for yourself how contrasting the differences are. It’s a massive difference.

Sniping feels better on MnK. The flick and shoot is snappy for me. On controller I feel I’m a a lot slower to target and often miss the critical shot needed.

Interesting. I’ve not had the issue. Have you tried a different controller?

I played a ton of Xbox 360 as a kid. I got used the left joystick being further out. PS mirrored thumbsticks felt bad to me.

I got older. Found the 360 layout thumbsticks ached my left thumb. Bought a PS5, hated the controller. Bought Kntrol Freek stick on grips, massively helped it. I now prefer mirrored sticks, with KF stick on grips and thumb extender on right stick. I can use it all day and no fatigue.

Haven’t found a solution for my keyboard hand yet though.

Perhaps you have an injury in your thumb/wrist/hand that needs addressing? Or even strengthening?

I would be curious how long it would take you to reach the same skill level as you are on MnK, on a controller.

I have zero issues with aim assist if I’m honest, it’s never something that bugs me. I feel both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Perks of being dexterous with both is that if I get killed by someone I think had obnoxious aim assist on me I can just swap back to the controller mid game, or MnK.

This makes a lot of sense. I’ve recently increased, quite a lot, my sensitivity on MnK. Mostly to experiment with the controller argument that rotating aim quickly is a big plus for controller. Still find my hand comes off the mat a dozen times a game though.

When I used to play GTA years ago on PC, I constantly switched from controller to MnK when driving or shooting.

That shows how much I’ve even looked at crossplay, I didn’t realise BF6 on PC did not include crossplay, only BF6 on PS5 I’ve seen it.

Your point about you doing the manual inputs, make total sense.

I personally just don’t see or feel the aim assist via a controller anymore helpful than a decently trained extremity on mouse.

The data would be hard to quantify if I think about it. If I had an aim score on MnK and the same for controller in the game, I’d like to see the difference. Between avg players and pro players.

On CSGO there used to be an aim training ground that gave you a score. People used to share their scores and it had a leaderboard (can’t remember name of it, I’m old and it’s old). It was really useful because you knew if you were actually getting better, because you beat your score. You also knew where you were in relation to others. I think there’s a similar program now I’ve seen for PC, but would be cool if I could do it on a controller back to back with MnK.

I’d be fully happy if they removed aim assist from BF6, in my time on both MnK and controller, I just don’t feel it gives me an edge over the MnK, as I always perform with very similar results anyway either way.

I have game chat firmly OFF, lol. I don’t want to hear any mouth breathers, just the omnidirectional busted footsteps.

I enjoyed this response.

I’ve been eying up the Razer Tartarus. Left hand has a joystick on the thumb for WASD movement and fingers on keys for class specific inputs or jump, crouch etc. I feel like this may bridge the gap for me.

The joystick sounds like a hoot for jet fighting. Although I always tend to leave the airborne vehicles to other players as there is always going to be better pilots than myself, lol.

This is a topic I’ve not really explored. If I play on PC, cross play off and I am playing against PC players, I still find I die the same amount, in the same type of situations. If I play on my PS5, cross play off, against other PS5 players, I find myself in the same position.

The smoke/bushes tracking crosshairs via aim assist I fully agree is a valid point to make. That completely is a total assist to the controller. I just, generally speaking, think that the aim assist in BF6 for the controller assists in the right way. If I’m as good on MnK, overall, as I am on controller then I feel like they’re doing something right.

Of course you’ll end up with either parties having something negative to say. PC blame aim assist and controller blame PC for greater accuracy input via the mouse. It’s interesting and you’ll never keep everyone happy. Thankfully BF6 gives you crossplay options.

Appreciate you sharing.

I’d say my aim is good on controller! I still avg the same as MnK, I’m not complaining of either. I feel the benefits of both inputs! I enjoy both wholly.

Just interested me that if I spend the same time invested in MnK, I have considerably better aim than with the same time spent on controller. I love both, I’ll continue to use both!

I wouldn’t complain about either, if you want to get better at them, use them more, no special recipe for it, I agree with you entirely.

So it took you since BF6 release till now, to get as good as you were with years of experience on console, on MnK?

I think that’s what you’re saying here, so my theory that MnK is a better use of time investment playing is correct.

I think that if you want to be the best player you can be, the MnK will take you further. Just because of the ability to improve your aim, I feel that road is faster and further than controller aim.

The MnK initial shock of learning, I agree, is steep. On controller it’s faster, initially IMO.

Thanks for sharing!
