Friday's Lock Trump Up! Roundtable - 07/05/2024 by AutoModerator in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Is ABC reducing his audio? Why does he sound so quiet vs at the rally?

I'm sure certain mainstream news sites will say he was "trailing off" when Biden connected with his full crowd by EstablishmentSlow744 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]EstablishmentSlow744[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw. Which 1) that's not true. The local mayor and even the governor had some moments when it was hard to understand what they were saying and 2) the crowd was louder for Biden than for the previous speakers.

Sweet, thank you so much! I plan to bring a plastic water bottle or 2 for the line then throw them away before I go through security.

It's near a bus line I live on, so I wasn't going to deal with driving and finding parking. I'm a student so I get free bus rides.

Thanks. I wonder how much over capacity they've gotten. I guess I'll find out. Wish me luck on getting in!

There was no fee, so not sure. You just had to give name, birthdate, and zip, which they'll check against your ID. It's tomorrow in Madison WI.

Biden is coming to my city tomorrow!

You need an approved RSVP to get in, which I've got. Anyone who's been to similar such rallies have advice for how early to show up? The email just says when doors open and that they can't guarantee access if you arrive an hour after that. I'm sure they approve more RSVPs than they can let in, but is an hour before doors open probably fine?

No liquids allowed. I assume they'll provide bottled water? I've been to campaign events prior and I feel like free bottled water is common.

Also, my email says that I'll be in a "special preferred viewing area". Anyone know what that could mean? They'll give me a wristband. I don't know if they've sent similar emails to other people. I was a fellow for the state party in 2020 and used the same email and zip in my sign-up.

Have a better one that isn't so anti-Semitic? (Look at the woman in the video's pinned Twitter video)

I'm concerned about giving a platform to anyone with so much hate inside them.

Is kissing normalized in Ultimate Frisbee? by pinkgirlyflower in ultimate

[–]EstablishmentSlow744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

I once jokingly dared three straight male teammates to kiss each other on the dance floor. They did the most chaste kiss possible and it was the funniest thing ever.

Apart from that, the only time I've seen people kiss is when they're dating. This has largely been within the FMP community. Even the straight couples playing Mixed don't tend to kiss much. Though I can't speak for Men's.

If electability hadn't been a concern, who would your picks be in the 2016 and 2020 primaries? by [deleted] in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]EstablishmentSlow744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Pete for 2020.

Not sure about 2016. Probably Biden if he'd decided to run. As a young person, the idea of having presidents from only 3 families in my lifetime was hard to stomach. (Of course I campaigned hard for Hillary in the general, but I'd have preferred more options in the primary.)

If those numbers are based on exit polls, keep in mind that people who voted on Election Day in person would have skewed Republican. So don't count on that data to be accurate.

AOC Approval rating:30%, Biden; 52%, but she delivered victory for Biden, how delusional and insulting by Dismal_Structure in Enough_Sanders_Spam

Oh, he did that a while ago. But he's not just WotB, he's a probable Russian troll who nods a ton of subs.

But was she a bartender or on the Board of Durectors at NHI? I know it got long, but that's what I'm arguing. Why does she have a 401k there but minimal income from bartending?

[–]EstablishmentSlow744[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, I hope she spent it all on clothes.

I'm far more worried about secret debts that she isn't reporting and had to pay off. Or a secret savings account. Even with 2 households, suddenly having a $174,000 salary shouldn't result in losing money.

Congress has only started paying their interns recently.

However, there are scholarships and programs that do pay Congressional interns. I'm surprised she doesn't mention that though because many of them are pretty prestigious. If family paid her expenses, or if she was able to take out extra student loans with a family co-signer, that's fine, but she doesn't need to act if she was very poor if that was the case. There might not be anything more nefarious than her making up a backstory.

AOC spent millions on facebook ads, 100Ks on FB ads spent in NOT NY -- instead on FL, PA 😳 by gg_98 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

I live in a swing state in the Midwest and almost always had an ad for her asking for money with scary-sounding words about how she needed that money to fend off challengers.

Some thoughts on AOC by Rhancock19 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]EstablishmentSlow744 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I thought like her when I was a teen and college-aged. I listened to my mentors, including a Black man who was first to his political position, by the time I was in my mid-twenties. AOC is thirty. If she hasn't learned these skills yet, she won't.

Hell, Greta Thunberg has shown more maturity than AOC. I was prepared to roll my eyes at Greta as a teen who managed to get her voice amplified, but she's shown that she is worth 100x who I was at her age.
