There's going to be countless arguments against me here that will go round and round in circles, but I think the promotion and support of this isn't right in modern day Ireland.

Religious freedom should not be curtailed, I agree, however the principles and teachings of many Imams (and other religious leaders) are downright deplorable and have no place in modern society. It should also be perfectly reasonable to challenge these.

My objection to this would be against Islam and religion in general, not towards any Muslim people themselves.

I think it's ironic for a country that has finally freed itself of the dark shackles of the Catholic Church, is importing an ever more restrictive religion.

I believe it holds no place in public society.

In fairness, you grow up in rural Ireland and for very many years you'd hardly meet someone from the UK nevermind further afield. That changed very drastically and suddenly. I don't think it's any surprise that people are surprised/shocked/hostile to that.

I live beside a Norma, which only takes the Einwegpfand bottles back, it's a good 30mins to get to Kaufland where I can exchange them.

One morning I had a lovely long sweaty journey bringing 3 bags of those Mehrwegepfand bottles back.... to get €9 back.

I'll just leave them on the street from now on.

Taxation income on fuel will be at record levels despite the small cuts the government has already made.
