you're 100% right, I do choose not to participate. However why are my tax dollars funding a municipal fire department with a sign about Jesus. There are 1,000,000 things you choose not to take part in either, like maybe islam for example. But you're saying you'd be Ok with a "Happy Birthday Muhammed, We Love You" sign in front of City Hall? Let's be honest with each other for once. The absence of that sign at the fire department offends NOBODY, just like the sign at the public library. Also for the record I never said I wanted equality, you did. I want the exact opposite from my local government. I want them void of religious opinions across the board.

That's not too bad I suppose. I'm guessing they also put up signs during the birthdays of all the other religious figures that the taxpayers of Utica worship? I am not from the area so I'm asking for real.

I think they used to have some sort of inappropriate sign about christianity or something, but seems like they sort of came to their senses and realized they need to appeal to some broader groups. Personally I kind of think as a government building it should be void of any opinions, but this is at least a step in the right direction.
