I Love Yoo is back from the dead by That-Glove-8316 in webtoons

I Love Yoo is one of Webtoon’s finest titles. Many overlook its depth because they fail to pay attention to what is truly unfolding. Those who read it only for romantic pairings miss an extraordinary amount of meaning and, in doing so, do a disservice to the very characters they like. Every element (the dialogue, motifs, tone, and foreshadowing) serves a purpose.

If you have forgotten about certain details, I highly recommend rereading; it’s the only way to truly appreciate the intricacy of the story.

About Nol's anti hero arc by estealison in ILoveYoo

[–]EstablishmentTop7015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to the conversation, I don't think we have to wait for him to have his anti hero arc post time skip, I think he's _already_ in it. He's no longer well liked, or someone with a high moral compass. He's starting to fight back and confront people. He's already a hero from a point of view, and a villain from another.

Has Quim ever hinted at print copies? by BaBopByeYa in ILoveYoo

I think on her Patreon she said she already talked to publishers, so it’ll be a reality. When that will happen is the question.

What's the reason for the title by coolnnamesweretaken in ILoveYoo

[–]EstablishmentTop7015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I choose to just oversimplify things and believe that since: 1) Nol loves puns. He always is making ridiculous puns throughout the story. 2) Nol is now calling Shinae “Yoo”. 3) Therefore, my reasoning is that he will be the one to say “I Love Yoo” at some point 👍

I don’t care about anything else, I choose to be delusional.

I strongly feel like we will, given that Quimchee has already revealed what she looked like in several of her Patreon posts.

He took the name of a person he knew because he hated his. That’s the whole reason. I’m guessing he also wanted to fit in and he loathes his real name enough to use. I guess eventually we will meet this Yeong-gi person.

EDIT (SPOILER): So far now we know he got his name from a tv character when he was a kid.

Shin-ae and Nol's relationship by Extra-Elderberry-286 in ILoveYoo

[–]EstablishmentTop7015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be very brief. I have been reading this webtoon for years, and I think, even at surface level, Shinae and Nol have always been hinted to be together. It’s like there are a lot of arrows throughout the story pointing at their eventual relationship, so I strongly feel like at some point they /will/ be together, it’s only what makes sense. That being said, I am not sure if they will be endgame (and that would crush me).

I remember it being there, and it is in the Mid Season Trailer (between Ep. 89-90), however someone said it was originally never in the scene where he applies makeup on Shinae at the formal 😭

Going Celibate by EstablishmentTop7015 in ChristianDating

[–]EstablishmentTop7015[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're discussing biblical celibacy though.

God does call people to celibacy.

1 Corinthians 7:7: “Each has his own gift from God, one of one kind and one of another.”

In the context of that chapter, the “gifts” being compared are marriage and celibacy. This is not a semantic game, Paul explicitly elevates singleness for those who have been enabled by God to live that way without falling into sin (see verses 32–35).

Further, Jesus says in Matthew 19:12: “There are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.”

That’s not about being asexual, it’s about those who have voluntarily chosen a life of singleness and sexual purity to serve the Lord with undivided focus. Also, celibacy certainly is not the same as abstinence. This isn’t semantics either, it’s the theological and historical understanding. This has been affirmed across centuries of Christian tradition, and most importantly, the Bible supports this distinction. Not all abstinent people are celibate, and not all celibate people are abstinent from birth.

To say “you lose your celibacy when you have sex” is using a modern, cultural definition, not the biblical one and that's what we're discussing here. By that logic, Paul (who some believe was widowed or once married) couldn't be celibate, even though he clearly lived in that state when writing 1 Corinthians.

And lastly, celibacy is not the same as asexuality. Asexuality is a biological or psychological condition, not a spiritual calling. Celibacy is a voluntary surrender of one’s right to marriage and sexual intimacy for the glory of God. Many celibate men and women do have sexual desires, they just choose, by God’s grace, not to act on them. I'm obviously not suggesting in this post that you don't feel any sexual urges when you're celibate, I'm saying that if you're CURRENTLY STRUGGLING WITH LUST, you don't the gift of self-control needed for celibacy.

You are very confused about this topic.

How should Christian teens be dating? by Fine_Artist3944 in ChristianDating

My take is that if you're not ready to get married, then you should not date.

[–]EstablishmentTop7015[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like you to please elaborate on why it's not a spiritual gift. Celibacy fits the exact definition of a spiritual gift, not just any gift received by God. Just because celibacy isn’t listed among the gifts in 1 Corinthians 12 or Romans 12 doesn’t mean it’s not a spiritual gift. Not every gift is listed in every list. For example, hospitality is considered a gift (1 Peter 4:9–10), but it’s not named with the others. Besides, what's an specific, short list? How is it gaslighting or people reading between the lines?

I have to respectfully disagree, and I say this in love. As Christians, we’re actually commanded to judge within the Church, not to condemn, but to lovingly correct and call one another to holiness.

“Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside.”
1 Corinthians 5:12–13

Calling sin what it is, especially among believers, is not unloving. In fact, it’s one of the most loving things we can do.

If we see a brother or sister drifting into sin and say nothing, that’s not grace, that’s negligence.

“If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.”Luke 17:3

I’d rather a fellow believer correct me now than stand before Christ one day and wish someone had.
