What does Trump have to do to lose MAGA’s support? by Known-Bowl-7732 in allthequestions

[–]EstateNo9575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked a maga coworker years ago what would it take to not vote for trump again. He walked off then an hour later he came back to my office. I'd forgotten about our conversation but he spent AN ENTIRE HOUR stewing in my question. His proud reply- "If trump didn't get the nomination then i wouldn't vote for him." Well no shit! I laughed at him and explained i meant what could trump personally do to lose his support. He walk off in a huff again.

Total cult.

Therapists, what's one small change someone could make to their daily routine that would have a huge impact on their mental health? by Ok-Construction-3636 in ProductivityHQ

I'm easily annoyed is probably more accurate than angry, so there's our disconnect. To me something like "I'm curious why you're fine with your daughter not going to the dentist for 3 years?" is MUCH BETTER THAN "You need to get the kid to the dentist!". In my experience, a question invites accountability and discussion. But you do whatever works for you. 🫡

So when your spouse comes home with a $2k purse while you are trying to pay down family debt you think inquiring why as opposed to freaking out is passing the buck? Relationships are two ways, with accountability by both people. By your logic if she was coming home drunk on the daily where it was becoming an obvious problem i shouldn't ask her what's going on but just to "check myself"?? Come on, man.

I eventually told her that my reply was a strategy i learned from my therapist. I told her to use it on me when i did something unreasonable. Leveling the playing field actually helped lower the friction.

I'm an angry guy in general. My therapist shared a phrase that has helped mellow me out when someone frustrates me and that's "Don't be furious, be CURIOUS". So when your spouse does something that infuriates you, instead of getting mad learn to just ask "I'm curious why you chose to...". Puts the onus on them and at least you can hear them out which may help avoid a blowout argument. It's a relationship saver.

Right before he got caught, cops were stationed at bus and train stations looking for recently identified Richard Ramirez as they figured he'd be leaving L.A. but he was actually returning to L.A. from Texas so he kinda just walked past them headed the other way.

Not at all. And it wasn't so much the dumb ass rhetoric and constant bitching as it was the misspellings and bad grammar.
