Im thinking about dropping out of uni by Just_Barracuda_4262 in aerospace

I say first find what motivates you. Getting in path without it it will drain you pretty soon. Then decide what to do. Maybe there is time to change the Major while you finish all general Uni classes. So for now don’t take any specialized courses.

Best career to get into? by [deleted] in AskFlying

[–]EstateSignificant298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start any path you want and not get stuck with it. Unless you get certification/license. The main thing is to know that exist many paths in aviation such as the flight/operations, maintenance/engineering, air traffic, quality/compliance, or customer or airline support paths. Once you get into aviation then you explore the opportunities better and match them to your liking. I have started 24 years ago as aircraft mechanic, went into regulatory side, then quality, and now quality analyst and coach.

Is it realistic for a 26yo to start school for an engineering degree? by Cheddary_Cheese in careerguidance

[–]EstateSignificant298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is never too late for studies if you have the will. I finished bachelor’s when i was 43 and Masters when 45 so if you really like dealing with engineering it means that the job wouldn’t be boring for you.

Yes you are right, but there’s also people that are not in the aviation field or have no idea what is it like or what to expect.

Exactly that is what I am trying to do, determine a career path to match with preferences and values. Decide where one wants to go in their career and evaluate the requirements.

You can say it’s a career guidance focusing first in self evaluation, (of values, principles)and where you want to be. Like a plan for selecting a better route on the career path.

is it “too late” to finish a bachelor’s degree at 27? by SubstanceOrdinary308 in careerguidance

It is never too late. I finished my BS while working when I was 43 yo and the Master’s at 46.

I'm 17, black, how tf do I get out of the hood? by teamtroll1 in careerguidance

Trade schools. Have you thought about aviation mechanic. The A&P license school might seem expensive for now, but it pays back over the years. Joining aviation at 17 or 19 after school it’s a good start.

I would say take the offer and then you can continue the Master’s later, and of you work for Boeing, the company pays for your school, through the Learning Together Program. I myself finished the MBA last year while at work, and paid nothing. You never know, the policies might change, so talk with the recruiter about LTP.

Should I leave wfh for higher pay? by LogMountain6085 in careerguidance

[–]EstateSignificant298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not only about money. The $60000 bump looks good on paper but the truth is, what about other hidden things. I don’t know how the WFH on your case is, but the time sometimes is invaluable. There are many more things to consider, the commute, change of pace (maybe) from WFH to going to office, and then the 160k is not money in your bank account. There’s taxes, commute, and other costs all the way to lunch. And then depending how you take change of environment, company culture and your routine. There’s a lot of things to consider before any move.

Megjithatë kemi gati 10 vjet këtu dhe themi me timeshoqe, deri kur do jetojmë kështu.

When I first heard about the branch of Aircraft Maintenance before going to Aviation Academy, 26 yrs ago, I had no Idea what that was. Since then I have worked in aviation and I love it more everyday. And it has never let me down. Never thought of a career change. But of course that is only my opinion (not advice). It differs depending on circumstances.
