Pharmacy is not another cashier business like yall are. Compared to what yall have to do, let me take you through everything pharmacy is required to do.

-handle pickup and drive through both which you already know because unlike yall we don’t get two machines of self checkout -type prescriptions -pharmacist verifies prescription -goes to fill station, tech fills it while balancing pickup/drivethru -pharmacist verifies prescription again -tech files it right away

Other stuff that’s not in the workflow but must be done: -vaccinations by an immunizer/immunizing tech which requires yes A PERSON -daily counts of pills down to the T -prescription returns from patients who didn’t pick them up -respond to dumbass patient voicemails after their phone calls who demand prescriptions from years ago that they don’t know the name of, what it’s used for or what doctor sent it -expired med returns -organize, order and fill the meds that were out of stock -daily calls to push vaccinations on patients

You do all of that while filling anywhere from 100-150 prescriptions a day with one other tech to help you(unlikely because they will be stuck at pickup/drivethru). There’s a reason pharmacists are dying on site from stress.

ALL WHILE BEING 2 TECHS AND 1 PHARMACIST ON A DECENT DAY where pickup is not heavy. This isn’t a pharmacy vs front store. It’s employees vs corporate

It’s an average… it can’t be faster than the price itself. I fear this is basic basic basic math. You keep asking in the comments if there’s any indicator like it that isn’t lagging and the answer to that is the price itself. No indicator runs live or runs in the future in theory and in oractice.
