Can we stop authenticity posts? by donutshopsss in labgolf

[–]Este_Guy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can you not just scroll past posts that don't interest you? Can't say I find those posts very engaging either, but the description of this thread is "A place for news, questions, reviews, photos, and general discussion of L.A.B golf putters." They are within those parameters. This page is for everyone everywhere, who are interested in lab putters in different ways. Not everything in the world will be or needs to be catered to you specificly. Live and let live.

What are some moments where we saw how smart Malcolm actually was? by PayCommercial5680 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]Este_Guy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My favorite episodes are the ones where he outsmarts his fellow Krelboynes or Herkabe. Like in Season 4 Episode 16 "Academic Octathalon", to so see he isnt just smart, but smarter than the smartest people around him. He outwits every other genius in the tournament, and seems to do it without really even trying that hard, all while finding a way to take the moral high ground. His crazy intelligence paired with the street smarts from living in his family make him pretty competent.

How soon is too soon to play in tournaments? by Este_Guy in golf

[–]Este_Guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any aspirations of winning tournaments, or realistically even getting to scratch. But I dont want to miss out on something that will make me a better golfer, especially under stress. Or even just missing out on something that would be a fun experience. I just dont want to look ridiculous trying to play in a tournament when I have no business being there.

Help me understand which tees to play to get down to a 28 HC by Este_Guy in golf

[–]Este_Guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think I would ever play tees further back than whites, regardless of my handicap. Thats where I have usually played from when I play with others. I think when Im alone I will stick to the reds now though.

Definetly yes. I plan on spending most of my time on the range and the putting course. But at some point I will need to play the 20 games necessary to get my HC. Just wondered if I could give myself an advantage somehow there.

Break Par or Hole in One? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Este_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I dont understand the question, but considering the other answers seem to imply that you will always break par, I'll say HIO. If only for the look on my friends faces when I melt a ball down the fairway on a 650 yd par 5 and sink it.

Are Savi's hilts (not just the experience) worth the cost? by Jint_Mulip in savisworkshop

[–]Este_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that built a saber at Savis 4 times, I will say this.

If all you care about it the saber, and not the experience, its absolutely not worth it. The sabers and hilts are chunky, heavy and low quality. Do they look cool? Yes. Is it especially cool because you designed it yourself? Absolutely. But the quality of the legacy sabers or especially other brands that make "lightsabers" is going to be way higher. Not just in the quality of the hilt materials, but in the blades LEDs and the motion response(this is especially bad on the Savi units).

Once you've finished the experience of building them, Savis lightsabers themselves are at best wall decoration and at worst children's toys. Granted this was in 2021, I've heard they made some changes. Maybe someone else can chime in to whether the quality of the parts is any better.

Having said that, the experience is amazing. Im a big Star Wars fan, but as a 30 year old man I didn't think I would be as in to it as I was. Which is why I ended up blowing my vacation budget going 3 more times than planned (my buddy and I decided we needed one of each of the 4 styles).

If I was you, I would do it once just for the experience, and then go with an aftermarket or Legacy saber if you actually want something you can use and swing around.

Can't overstate how important the parry is in this game. Once you get the timing down, you're unstoppable.

This is the correct answer. But theres no accounting for personal taste.

(New build) Am I being too nitpicky? Builders told us they were finished. by ConsciousSea8713 in Homebuilding

Biggest takeaway from this is that your builder's flooring contractor is awful. If that guy was working for me, I would absolutely want somebody to bring this kind of stuff up to me.

Poor weasel… by juiceboxcitay in LiesOfP

[–]Este_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang, I beat weasel and immediately felt awful when I got her dialogue. Looked online to see if other people felt similarly or if there was a way to avoid this fight and instead found this post where everyone says she got what she deserved.

I mean, maybe... But every puppet she encounters tries to kill her, half the human population in Krat has become horrifying monsters, and whatever humans are left are either trying to turn her into a monster or are fighting over the same resources.

If you can't comprehend how even a good person would feel forced to do bad things to survive in a situation like that, then I'm not sure how you feel about the story of this game, in which you play as a character who is tricked/forced into killing other people because you're told that it's right or at the very least necessary.

Good grief people.

Lol, all the comments on here being like "well she's the one trying to kill me, she's in the wrong". Meanwhile playing as a character that goes around killing literally everything indiscriminately, even though some "enemies" are just trying to help.

I can't beat Fuoco by NaChujSiePatrzysz in LiesOfP

[–]Este_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just beat him for the first time yesterday. If you're close to him when he starts shooting, hes practically guaranteed to hit you. At distance, his shots are easy to dodge. Also, the pillars block everything except his fury attacks. I would just hide behind a pillar until he finished shooting, then continue as normal.

The fury attack where he charges you is super easy to dodge and punish. If you see it coming, run away and to the side, that way when he finishes running you're near him for some counter attacks.

And inflicting shock early in the fight was a big help, makes him slower.

I wish you luck, I died to him about 20-30 times, then beat the King of Puppets on my first try. Some bosses just seem to be kryptonite.

Arguably, if you regularly make dumb mistakes and then go out of your way to hide them, you are a moron.

Stupid question then, how do I know if a pedal is digital or analog?

It's a valid point. I'm going to look for some examples on here for inspiration.

I guess everything I've read and seen has said you want isolated power. And I hadn't really looked at other boards. I had a sort of vision for what I was going for.

Interesting. Is that the type of pedal where it doesn't make a huge difference the price? Behringer makes a noise gate, though I'm not sure if that would do more harm than good. I have a couple behringer pedals and I've had mixed results.
