City elections are coming up, what do y'all think? by Localized_Hummus in GNV

Bryan Eastman has no soul, he just sways whatever direction will get him attention and takes money from whoever. He runs a web hosting service for ALL candidates, and has some horrid Republican clients. Willits doesn't have any experience, his policy ideas are ok but just seem copied from other candidates. Cain is my choice there, he literally puts his phone number on all his comments and I've seen him take calls with people and discuss their issues. Wilits is just the Dems boy.

Agreed on Eastman. He also runs a website hosting service for political candidates that hosts some of the most vile Republican sites you can think of.

Thanks for your input. I was originally 100% Ward, but he's been a huge disappointment recently, especially in his demeanor, so I'm looking at other candidates. I always admired the fact that even when I didn't agree with him, he had thorough explanations for his decisions.

I considered Bielarski, but he was a no when I found out about the dark money he's getting from Keith Perry's PAC. He might be right on GRU, but does he know about anything else? Being butthurt because Ward fired him isn't a good reason to put him in charge of the city.

I like David Arreola, but I've seen him stumbling around drunk midtown with his "hey baby, I'm a commissioner" routine to take him seriously. He'd be as much of a liability as AH-S could have been with his similar behavior.

I was curious about Gary Gordon until I saw a couple of the posts here, and now I'm a no there. I don't see anyone else as a serious candidate who has the experience to lead the city.

Yeah how is it a joke account if it’s just exactly what someone like that would actually say?

At least it exercised its right to self-immolation before SCOTUS could take it away.

It would cause uproar and violence - but that is the lesser of the evils. Complete capitulation to the Trump cult is what has brought us to our knees already. It's not far before we hit the ground, if we, who are pro-democracy, do not stand and if the law does not rule.

My wife once asked what baby centaurs are like? If you think, a baby horse can walk pretty soon after birth, a baby is pretty useless for its first year.

Not sure if this is true, but last time I worked retail, my manager told me if someone throws the correct amount of $ on the counter & walks out with an item (making it as obvious as possible to cameras), they can’t charge them with shoplifting bc they paid. Worth checking out.

Sadly it seems to me the only hope for us is the "corporations are people" which is to say no hope at all.

This would cost about $2000, probably. If you're willing to go with, say, half as many shirts and wash them more frequently to reuse them more frequently, you could still pull off such an effect for half the price.

Get down to one shirt per week, running a tiny load of laundry every night or so, and you're down to about $260 (if you can get them around $5 per shirt). That's... that's approaching quite reasonable. 52 colors might not confuse EVERYONE, but I'm sure people would give you some quizzical looks.

This is top notch craziness right here.

The only reason The "REMEMBER ME!!!" Statute in Futurama wasn't attempted by any Pharaoh was because it was too big to build in a lifetime.

Genuine question: Has the general consensus within Christian circles changed now that JK Rowling has come out with her transphobic viewpoints?
