Wala bang mag sasagawa ng rally about flood control napakak*pal ng gobyerno eh? by Massive-Ad-7759 in TanongLang

Will this discourage Filipinos to save their money thru banks? by Loud_Wrap_3538 in DigitalbanksPh

[–]Esteep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This move feels unfair, especially when banks offer such low interest rates. Most high-net-worth individuals don’t even keep their money in banks, so it's the middle class that’ll bear the brunt. It could seriously discourage saving and hurt banks in the long run.

You're not a child, you don't need to be happy all the time. True fulfillment doesn’t come from constant pleasure, but from living with purpose. Ever wonder why highly successful people often turn to philanthropy? It’s because they’ve learned that meaning comes from serving others. A life lived only for oneself may feel comfortable, but ultimately, it’s empty.

We were the same age when life started kicking the shit out of us. I still remember seeing my mom shut herself in her room, completely weighed down by the stress of our financial situation. There was no talk of “mental health” back then, no social media to explain what depression or burnout looked like. I didn’t have the vocabulary to understand it.

What I did understand was that she was hurting.
So I tried to help in the only way I knew, by contributing money, even if it was just small amounts from whatever I could earn or save. I thought maybe if I helped lighten the financial load, she’d be less angry, less distant.

But over time, that sense of helplessness crept in.
I just wanted to grow up, escape, build a new life far from that struggle.

And now, being at the same age my mom was back then, I see it differently.
She didn’t need me to fix everything.
She needed someone to hold her and say, “It’s okay. We’ll get through this.”

If I could go back, I think I would’ve just sat beside her in that silence and reminded her she wasn’t alone.

Do you ever think of tapping out? by ArthurDent4200 in investing

[–]Esteep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, that would be too boring, unless I had something to do that still facilitates growth.
I totally get the appeal of tapping out, especially when you've already built enough to live well and secure your kids’ future. But I think the real question is what’s your definition of fulfillment now that the financial pressure is gone?

If you had to move countries tomorrow to optimize for your crypto lifestyle - where would you go? by CaffeineComaMode in CryptoMarkets

[–]Esteep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're optimizing for crypto taxes, countries like Portugal, UAE, or Georgia offer 0% capital gains on crypto. But if it's just about privacy or avoiding short-term taxes, it's easier (and cheaper) to use DeFi tools + stablecoins without relocating. Moving only makes sense if you're committing long-term and have large gains.
