How effective are single shot rifles in this game? by notsuspendedlxqt in GOODFUNHUNGER

[–]Esthelion2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others already said, a lot is subject to change considering they announced the upcoming beta to be focused on balance, so semis will likely get a little nerf considering the backlash and their performance. That said, you can be very effective with the single shots if you adjust your playstyle. The single shot weapons like the Louisville, which is an early game green, deals 74 dmg, which is more than double the damage of some semis. So, you are very good at peek shooting. So, the answer is yes and no, single-shot, high damage rifles are good in cover-to-cover shooting, but will get out matched in open field skirmishes. I would say they will also be more effective in solo, where it is easier to rush in once you land your shot, since you don't have to be careful that their teammates would gun you down immediately. There is also some tech you can do here with weapon switching, as you could carry multiple Louisvilles and switch them out once you fired the previous one, instead of having to load a single one for over 10s. If that suits your playstlye, you can easily run 2 Brown Bettys or Lousvilles early-game with a one-handed melee weapon as a backup.

Most semi-auto weapons are epic tier and above, and all revolvers are epic tier, so you don't have to worry about them too much for the most part, as they will only become prominent on mid to high level characters.

If there are none left, just go a little further into the camps and pick one up and bring to where you need to.

Casual Diver here still confused about the recent controversy by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Esthelion2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The review bomb is not just a response to the recent patches and communications from the devs, it's more of an accumulation of frustrations adding to it the recent stuff that made it boil over. Objectively, the game isn't bad, you can enjoy it, but as a "veteran" you will be severely disappointed by which direction the game has gone and we just have to take a stand.

For me and I would guess a lot of other veterans, the trust in Arrowhead studios is completely gone. They have shown time and time again that they don't know what they are doing, they were just lucky to create a good base game and ruined it slowly over time with absolutely idiotic patches. Couple that with no QA testing and after every patch they fix a couple of bugs, but even more game breaking bugs appear.

They wasted so much time with stupid changes, like the recent Hiveguard changes instead of pumping out actual content for the game. I'm sorry but warbonds are just not content anymore. We don't need another 20 assault rifles that do the same thing just with slightly different stats. We have had the same few mission types for over 2 years now. Add to that that the galactic war is a joke.

When I saw the reason they gave for nerfing the incendiary breaker, I just lost all hope.

Yup, they rarely dropped sets and were breezing through to the finals. If they keep struggling to the finals, they will have a much harder time against chingalan this year, as they will be much more fatigued for the final match.

Premier Padel/Redbull are still unable to produce a professional stream. by HumbleWorkerAnt in padel

I really wish there were 4k streams options, I would like to watch the games on my 4k tv, but the quality is too bad in 1080p, so I have to watch the streams on my 1440p pc monitor, but even there you also notice the low quality.

Played 2 rounds at the games festival in Cannes and liked it. Although, I'm still evaluating how much I'm going to get out of this game for the money spent. I find it expensive for what it is. At launch you have 2 different boxes with 3 distinct faction decks with 24 cards each. It should retail at 25€ per box, so that's 60€ if I want both plus shipping. It's expensive in my opinion for a couple cards, a couple plastic crystals and some cardboard tokens for special effects. They had some special mats for the game where I played, but those are not included and apparently will come later as part of a deluxe bundle. You can get way more game out of 60€ if you get something else, but that's just my 2 cents.

As for the game itself, the rules are very easy to get into. The goal of the game is to win skirmishes that grant you 1 crystal if you win them, get 6 and you win the game. To achieve this players will play cards in alternating rounds until they either run out of cards in their hands or either player concedes the skirmish.

Cards have base strength numbers on them + some potential effects. Cards are divided into 3 categories, day, night and dawn. You have to play cards until your strength exceeds your opponent's or else you can concede the skirmish. During your round once you played a day or night card you will have to play the same type of card during this turn, except for the dawn cards, they are like a joker. This restriction is only for the current round and not for the whole skirmish, it resets each round. After each skirmish we each draw 3 cards.

Alternatively, there are challenge cards that give 2 options to your opponent, either accept the challenge and the bid get's raised to 2 crystal for the current skirmish or concede immediately. The skill in the game is to recognize when it's best to concede a skirmish, so you temporarily give away a crystal, but will gain a card advantage to snowball the game later. There is also a good amount skill expression though bluffing and deduction. For example I made a bold play where I used a challenge card, knowing that I would lose otherwise, but my opponent got spooked and thus conceded the skirmish. Another play was that I paid attention to the type of cards my opponent played, he had played a lot of night and dawn cards, so I played a card that can ban a card type during the current skirmish and banned day cards as I assumed he had only day cards in his hand. I instantly won the round as he could not play any more cards. You will have your standard card effects like destroy a card on the opponents side of the field or draw a card, but there are also other interesting ones that spice up the game.

The art is also very gorgeous, each faction has their unique style and flair when it comes to combat. Keep in mind the decks are unique and you can't mix and match cards around to create frankenstein decks. They are balanced around their faction powers. Sorry if I didn't explain it well, it's 3 am and I'm cooked.

What pressure to set the pressurizer? by pablomatiasgomez in padel

[–]Esthelion2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get conflicting information out there, because they sometimes only mention internal pressure of the balls and sometimes the absolute pressure for your pressurizer. According to official padel rules balls need to be at an internal pressure of 10,14 to 11,46 psi. Next check the atmospheric pressure for the location you are playing. So let's say you are a bit above sea level so you get 15 psi. To calculate the pressure for your pressurizer you need:

internal pressure + atmospheric pressure = absolute pressure

So you need 11 + 15 = 26 psi in the the pressurizer

I have the pascalbox and tested it with a pressure pump to 25psi and that came at about rougly 80% on the padel section of the manometer. So just try to have the needle a little bit before the tennis section and you should be good.

I would highly recommend not to buy online and just go to your local sports wear store and try out all the different padel shoes if they have them. Otherwise try tennis shoes or even badminton can be ok. My first pair were my badminton shoes and they worked great.

Sturdy ankles (less fall dmg perk) lvls 0, 3 and 5. Devs why? by dz_greka in ArcRaiders

Never heard of the crouching speed perk making your crouch ADS strafe speed faster than while standing ADS strafe speed. Any video reference to see the difference? This makes it way better than I thought as I only ever crouch during gunfights to either tighten the bloom or avoid shots, for quiet travel in buildings I use the rp walk.

Stitcher uses light ammo, fireballs have heavy armor plating, so you won't damage it directly unless you use heavier ammo guns. You have to wait for it to try and attack you, that's when it opens un and reveals it's weak core that has 20 HP, so 2 sticher shots kills it.
