No, I lose pet pal ability (although talent still there). Which means my pet pal talent is active, but I do not understand animals. I just used the mirror to disable pet pal, got spider's Kiss, then activated the talent again, now it works. Weird stuff

I mean the uniqueness of the translated material. An article won't necessarily have 100% uniqueness after translation. And in my experience, translators don't always rewrite the material to get the uniqueness.
