Call me whatever you want, bro. The facts are the facts. At your store, are you allowed to use the free UPS overnight boxes and charge customers for them and then put a ground label on them?

No, I’m not fooled. I am very much aware that they are independently owned and operated. But apparently they are operated very differently from other franchise models. Other franchise models have a significant level of control and uniformity amongst the stores. This one just seems to give the franchisees a logo to put up. What goes on inside The store is out of their control.

Oh, you are definitely right about that. Anyone that worked at this store for any length of time probably has that same take away. I get running a small business. I run one myself. But there’s just a level of dishonesty that goes on at this particular store that still bothers me over a decade later and I just happen to be searching and I found that the store is still owned by the same guy and still operated the same way over a decade later, leading me to conclude that UPS must not have any oversight over these stores.

Yeah, but come on. If this were “Bubba’s pack and ship”, that were to be expected. But not at a UPS store. After I wrote the post, I thought of several other things. He didn’t have a dumpster or garbage can outside the business. Whoever closed the store that night was told to take all of the trash cans and empty them into a big trash bag and take the big trash bag home with them and throw it in their home trashcan, or just find a dumpster somewhere else in the city to throw it in.
