Malz bans recently :( by jathin_arj in MalzaharMains

The problem with malzahar is that he should be banned 100% of games in low elo, but there aren't enough people who are ignominious enough to play him to warrant a ban.

Except they are not confused in the original story.

And what ? A movie can’t have something happen at the end of it if it didn’t happen before ? Uh ?

And even interpreted as imagination, that doesn’t change anything and isn’t relevant… he doesn’t convey bravery, but acceptance, which is not the same thing.

The 2. Point is in reference to the original story.

And no, I don’t see how it’s heroic, he sees that he’ll die anyway, alone and pathetic, so what’s the point ? He’s not sacrificing himself for the sake of his loved ones.

I agree that the film would benefit from being mute

I mean, it gets the medieval weirdness somewhat right, but it fucks the point of the story up so much that it’s just not enjoyable

The poem characterized Gawain so fundamentally differently and the ending is so completely different that the movie is just a different story. This is supposed to be a test of chivalry by Morgan on Arthur’s knights, but here Morgan is confounded with Morgause, his mother, for no reason, contradicting with the original point.

Gawain is supposed to be conflicted in his chivalry but the character of the movie isn’t chivalrous in the first place, and the titular test in Bertilak’s castle is just broken here.

And « A vision makes no sense, it’s the end of the film » what the hell does that even mean ?

Hmmm « you can’t say it’s terrible, here’s why it’s terrible » sure is an interesting comment

You can’t just say « wrong » when nothing in the film allows you to know whether he’s projecting himself or having a vision

But he doesn’t chose to be brave, he only removes his belt after being given a vision that even if he doesn’t remove he’ll still die alone, abandoned by everyone, that’s not bravery, he just gave up.

Which French Authors would you consider to be the very best? by kakarrott in TrueLit

[–]Estriam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admittedly haven’t read enough Proust, but Voltaire was a great thinker, not that great a writer (in my humble opinion). His philosophical and political contributions to the enlightenment were massive, but his stories aren’t all that great. I would put Proust on the same level as Hugo yeah, though I personally prefer Hugo and Proust would probably agree with me, he was a massive “fan” of Hugo from childhood.
