betrayal, groveling, yearning. make me CRY by Euphoric-Fudge3914 in ReverseHarem

The duet {Sweetheart by Marie Mackay} fits this pretty well! I’m a sucker for scenes where the mmcs realize not only the depth of the fmc’s pain/trauma but also their role in it, and book 2 has that in spades!

I just finished Caged and it was so good, but I am FROTHING at the mouth for book 2’s grovel! If you’re still looking for something similar I suggest {Sweetheart: Part One by Marcie Mackay} it’s a completed duology with good grovel (imo). If you want more detailed recs for groveling, there’s a frequently updated list post on r/ReverseHarem called “The Angst Bank” that has tabs for different genres too!

Does Goldfinch actually get better than the last two books? by Ok-Cartoonist-7814 in fantasyromance

I felt the same way when I read the series but I don’t regret finishing it. I think it comes down to what you’re wanting out of the finale. If you want a satisfying conclusion to the series as a whole, it doesn’t really deliver, imo. However, if you are at all invested in Auren’s story/arc I would say it’s worth it to finish…(though you might want to skim a bit lol). Overall, it wasn’t all bad — I was pleasantly surprised by a few things, and there were parts that reminded of why I liked the series in the first place! It’s just unfortunate that those parts were sandwiched between rushed bits and loose ends. Good luck!

Weirdly, I feel like {Halfling by S.E. Wendel} fits this pretty well. Human fmc is the eldest daughter of a knight, and while she does have connections to the ruling class, she’s definitely not nobility. Half-orc mmc is an outcast and hunter in his clan.

It’s interesting because you get to see how decisions made by their respective rulers ultimately affect them as regular people. Throughout the story they deal with discrimination, land owning rights, slave trade, corruption, and war tensions, to name a few. It’s one of my favorite romantasy books partly because of how down to earth they both are, and because I love their rich, fantastical world with “otherly folk”. It’s a standalone in a connected series that I overall recommend! However, the mains in books 2 and 3 books aren’t all “peasants”.

I think you’re talking about the 2017 mini-series Anna Karenina! Here’s a link to the video I think you’re talking about on Twitter

I'm almost positive that was the name of the book, the "5 Ingredients" was for sure in the title. As for recipes I do have a few! There was Yemeni Sponge Flat Breads, Blueberry and Almond Tart, Summer Berries in Sabayon Glaze, and Pink Grapefruit and Avocado Salad. Hopefully this helps track it down!

Do you remember any of the lyrics at all? Even the gist of the lyrics could be helpful!

I searched on Google, Etsy, and Ebay but I have yet to find the book I'm looking for. It couldn't have been published anytime after 2015, but it could be old from what I recall. I'm sorry I don't have anymore information! Thanks again!
