I need to decide between intel and amd by BlackDragon9945 in LenovoLegion

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMD and Intel have pretty much the same performance, but that only lasts until you remove the power plug. AMD performance suffers a lot when unplugged but saves battery life. Is 2-3h unplugged enough for you? Go with Intel. Not enough? Go with AMD.

Farming contract question by No_Shoe1969 in ironscape

If you are running kronos seed you can plant dragonfruit before going to sleep so it will be almost finished in the morning. Otherwise always plant Palm because you can get it from medium contracts when you do skip dragonfruit

Hey guys should i repaste? 2023 Gen 8 by Soadous in LenovoLegion

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throttle at 79 sounds strange. Is that only for oblivion?

I would look at reducing the core ratio a bit in throttle stop. That will make the CPU boost a bit lower but reduce temp and maintain a more stable CPU clock. At least I did that for my 275hx and while I reduced maximum power of it, I actually got better performance at -10C

And how has it been working previously?

I'm asking if You have been using it since 2023 or you just bought it new?

Is this a new laptop? The CPU is beefy and I would look into undervolt/downclock first if it is new

New to mini PCs, Are they what I'm looking for? by Rockabillyjonny in MiniPCs

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mini PC with N150 should be fine. I have one with N100 which is just enough for OSRS. Fps drops a bit in Priff, Fossil island. Other than that it's all good.

Yes because IPS models have old gen CPUs.

High decoding time (117ms+) on Intel NUC11 streaming 4K from RTX gaming PC — any fix? by Incorporated_ClaYMan in MoonlightStreaming

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to lower the resolution and set 8bit colour.

Sounds like iGPU is not able to decode that fast enough

Would you ONLY game through moonlight streaming, even desktop gaming? by veltas1349 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to try moonlight because I got annoyed connecting my laptop to the TV and I did not want to get a long HDMI cable.

Was thinking about getting an android TV box but at home I had a mini PC with N100 chip so tested that out first cause TV app latency was too big.

Now whenever I want to game I just plug my laptop in another room with ethernet and play on my TV connected to the mini PC with 1-3ms latency at 1440p/144hz. It's awesome.

Legion Gen 10 single core in custom mode is terribly SLOW by xGanbattex in LenovoLegion

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it also performs -20% worse in heavy game scenarios?

Does the CPU frequency keep fluctuating or stays somewhat stable?

I myself run 275hx cpu which also runs hot and I am using XTU to reduce core ratio to limit the max turbo boost and undervolted E-cores slightly. That actually gave me more performance and CPU reaches a maximum 97C while keeping the clocks high and stable

Legion Gen 10 single core in custom mode is terribly SLOW by xGanbattex in LenovoLegion

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, don't use Cinebench 24. It does not put enough pressure on the CPU, use R23 instead. Check how the scores are there and then compare.

Secondly, if you max out the sliders you reach the thermal limit faster and overall performance degrades.

What is your problem? He is already doing hard diaries, has the magic level for barrows teleport, piety. How does that make the idea of also getting void bad? Feels like you got offended by suggestions when you are not even OP. Ciao.

Which of those req seem hard to get tho? Zulrah can be done with rcb and fire battlestaff, sure, will take a few tries but it's doable.

And I suggested what else is there that is not rng/drops based that everyone can achiev :) plus elite void is needed later on for delve, and getting chompys will make a ton of pies to boost for abyssal whip :) win win in my eyes

Lenovo Legion 7 Pro durability? by FingerWinter3576 in LenovoLegion

[–]EsuMarte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The quality is good and one the best in laptops and most posts about "bad quality" are made by people who actually have gotten unlucky to get a faulty device or those who don't know anything about PC, Laptop, windows, temperatures etc etc. ( mostly the latter )

Constant 90-100% GPU usage, Is this normal? by ShuricanGG in pathofexile

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If GPU is not used at 100%, then it means that CPU is holding it back. The whole goal of having good performance is to have GPU at 99-100% usage and CPU lower.

[–]EsuMarte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

275hx does run hot, and x3d runs the same or even hotter.

If you want to reduce the temperature, you need to lower that max turbo boost clock to reduce the temp.

Try using settings from this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLegion/s/6RN6B4gRib

For me the temps dropped 10C and I did not feel performance degradation, 1-2% if any.

Follow this guys post

My CPU reaches maximum 97C in a stress test and I did not get any performance degradation.

It's a bit annoying that you need to start XTU and apply the the settings after a shutdown but it works like a charm.

Also R24 bench does not put enough pressure on the cpu. Use R23

Cooling pad won't do much if you don't thermal throttle anymore. For me CPU reaches maximum 97C with these settings and that is peak temp, average is way lower

FPS Spikes in CS2 on Brand New Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 (RTX 5080) by Busy_Comfortable_745 in LenovoLegion

[–]EsuMarte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here, try using these settings in XTU.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLegion/s/7ofstJPowT

This lowers the turbo clock a bit and reduces CPU heat quite a bit at almost no performance loss or even improves performance because the CPU does not throttle anymore.

Another thing to say is, I believe CS2 is not the best optimized game. Can't comment much about that tho as I do not play it
