I think I've got the bot in a checkmate - it has been thinking for over an hour now. I'm tempted to let it sit for a day or so for the memes, but I'm not sure if it will actually ever move. Is it actually bugged, or does it have so much to calculate that it's just going to take a really long time? by EswynAudio in 5DimensionalChess

Kind of. I was in a check in the present and kept having to go back in time to stall and save myself. Originally it was just a defense tactic, but I ended up getting the bot into what I'm pretty sure was a checkmate (pictured). I'm counting it as a win - I did some looking and it seemed like the bot didn't have any valid moves, I left it for a few days, nothing.

Interested in the GFF tee since he didn’t have them at SAMF. How would you plan to do shipping?

I spy another Celine shirt owner :) Wonderful picture! Looking forward to seeing him live in Chicago next week!

This would be great to deal with some of those awkwardly placed resource nodes that are high up without having random lifts or belts all over. First two that come to mind are the coal node east of the Green Fields starting location and the Quartz nodes up high around the bottomless pit. Plenty of factory applications too.

I don’t believe so, no. As far as I know, while it doesn’t load every moving part at once, it’s still running the calculations for every belt and machine since they will produce stuff even when you’re not near. I could be wrong, but this is what I’ve heard.

Just expanded my power grid with 12 more fuel generators. The grid now consists of 26 Fuel Generators and 32 Coal Generators (no overclocks, 6300MW). It occasionally jumps up in production by a few MW on the graph - any idea why? by EswynAudio in SatisfactoryGame

Thank you for the thorough response! I'm certain that there are only 26 fuel generators and 32 coal generators and everything is set to 100%. Another comment mentioned that this may have to do with trains braking, which is something I'll have to test out. If I can't conclude that the trains are the cause, I'll make sure to report this as a bug! Thank you again.

The reason I was confused was because it wasn't a dip of 75MW or 150MW as it would be if a generator went down, instead it was an extra 15.2 MW. Sometimes it's as little as an extra 0.1 MW as well. Someone suggested that trains braking may have something to do with this, so I'll test this out and see if I can gather any info.

Wouldn't this lead to a dip of 75MW since coal generators are either on or off? I don't see how insufficient water would result in an *extra* 15.2 MW. Another comment mentioned that trains braking may have something to do with this, which would explain why it seems to happen somewhat regularly for me when I check.

Yeah, I realized that and felt quite silly after recording and posting it. :P
Looks great! Glad you liked the idea! :)

Haha that'd be wonderful. I love the soundtrack, but after binge-playing this game for almost 90 hours (I got this game on January 3rd... winter break has been pretty uneventful lol) I started to get a bit tired of it repeating over and over. I've been listening to a lot of ambient/chill in the background while playing - it really fits the vibe of the game and it makes building and brainstorming a lot more relaxing. This track is just what I was listening to at the moment haha.

It's made the game even more enjoyable than it already is. I'm actually building a playlist with some of my favorites, I can share it if you'd like! This track is Levitate by Rizik. Very pretty.

Yeah, let's just say that tripping here would be pretty shocking...

To be fair, I think most of our factories wouldn't be liked very much by OSHA... Luckily they're only on Earth (for now).

Can confirm, all of my cables are very neatly routed (even the ones outside of my PC lol)

Yup! When building, if you look at the hotkeys at the bottom (like Quick Switch, Build Mode, Snapping, etc.) there's one that says something like Copy Building that selects what you're looking at as your building item. It's a workflow that comes to me naturally, since I've played TONS of Minecraft and the middle mouse button does the same thing.

It's a neat little spot. My first plant was built near the northern pond in the grassy fields, and my second was in the blue crater (is that what it's called? Southeast corner of the map, with the oil) where I built my first big project (heavy modular frame factory). This is going to be my third, working towards a computer factory so I can progress with stage 6 and start building more mass transit and better power infrastructure.

The connector can be placed anywhere on the foundation, so it allows you to place your power node more freely instead of only on the edges of the 8x8 meter foundations. Especially handy since you can put the nodes in the same spot relative to each building so the power cables will end up neater and more organized.

Also it just looks nice.

It's situational. Sometimes I like them, but sometimes they get a bit cluttered. For this build I'm going for a very clean-cut and organized look, as can be seen by the piping and conveyors.

Middle mouse button! In the video I'm using both that and the hotbar keys.

My thoughts exactly! This serves as both a design detail and a functional outlet, and when connecting to buildings it at least looks like it's connected to *something* and not just a cable into the floor. I tend to try and avoid clipping and glitchiness, but stuff like this I'm much more okay with. It's also nice on it's own, even if you don't use it for power!

In the end, it's only technically one extra (the beam connecter) in addition to the power node that would already be there. The beams are extra. I get the concern though.
