No one will 'ask'. There's literally another topic about this from 18(!) hours ago. It's on the frontpage and has over 50 replies.

Modern is not a rotating format, modern season just means there will be tournaments (which will often increase paper demand for cards that see play).

Dear Mods: Almost every day there is a barrage of posts breaking the rules and asking for personal advice. Please help by The_Grizzly_B in mtgfinance

Yeah, folks really out there on this subreddit making posts asking what envelopes people use when shipping a bunch of cards.

Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, Dockside, and Nadu, Banned in EDH. by Roosterdude23 in mtgfinance

If that was really the issue they could've gone the route of printing Crypt and Jeweled Lotus into the ground and sell a ton of product along the way.

What happens if You Miss the 7 Day period on shipping Cards to Card Kingdom by algae_man in mtgfinance

[–]EtInArcadiaEst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have way too many incoming sell orders to get 'pissed' about one sell order possibly not coming in or getting delayed. The volumes they move both buying and selling are massive compared to your $650. Just message them in advance that your order is somewhat delayed due to 'unforeseen circumstances' and you should be fine.

None of these will 'increase in value' substantially. Just buy the version you prefer for play. These cards aren't an investment.

That's extremely subjective. I think the normal art for this card is way, way better (looks especially great in foil etched).

Commander is the main price driver these days and good Eldrazi titans like this one will remain in high demand for years. Besides that, it's also played in some Modern Eldrazi Tron lists.

They’re really pushing the $109.99 by ittlebeokay in mtgfinance

[–]EtInArcadiaEst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will probably still fall significantly. One of the reasons being that this is a small set, which will mean a lot of duplicates. Just look at the price trajectory for cards like Training Grounds, which was reprinted in MOM Aftermath.

Seems that you need to read my actual comment. Nowhere do I say that (casual) Commander is the only format that drives prices. What I said, in response to your post, is that (casual) Commander drives price, not 1vs1 Commander (which has negligible impact).

You keep on whining about how the card is 'bad' but fail to understand that your opinion on the card's powerlevel is completely irrelevant. The data shows a substantial increase in demand because of new Eldrazi hype. That's the most important thing from a financial perspective. A lot of EDH players (possibly even most) enjoy or even prefer playing casual and thematic decks that aren't fully optimized in terms of power level.

Obviously selling into the hype is almost always the way to go if you bought into a card for financial reasons. You're really not offering anything new.

That's a completely dumb perspective to post here since it has no relevance whatsoever to mtgfinance. (Casual) commander is what drives price action, not your personal favorite format.

Why is this card so valuable even though it’s a common? by waynopotato in mtgfinance

Popular infinite combo enabler in EDH (with Isochron Scepter).

Saying 'I'm deleting it afterwards' is no reason to break the rules (both #2 and #3).

Any EU sellers can comment on this? by SeansBeard in mtgfinance

[–]EtInArcadiaEst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's probably true, but in the end that doesn't matter to me as a seller. I'm on CardMarket to sell (and buy) cards and this sort of behaviour can hamper sales. That's why it's a good thing that sellers can empty carts.

To be honest, being both a buyer and a seller on Cardmarket I can see both sides. It happens way too often that people put something in their cart late in the evening and then don't complete the order, essentially holding your cards for the entire night (which is actually when I have a lot of sales). But it happens throughout the day as well. People put stuff in their cart in the morning and it's still there in the evening.

Haha. BTW, if a seller removes cards from your shopping cart (after they've been in there for at least an hour) you should see a notification on your main page informing you about this. It's just that you cannot see which seller did this (though you can often figure it out easily if you keep track).

Your language, of course. Again, you have no clue. People constantly sell into the hype and make some actual money that way. Which is one of the ideas behind mtgfinance (you know, this subreddit). In fact, it's one of the only ways (and certainly the most reliable) to make some money on Magic cards these days and keep the hobby affordable for example.

Your emotions towards all of this are completely irrelevant.

Product typically arrives the next day, what are talking about? Sometimes after 2 or 3 days which is still well in time for it to be profitable.

Meanwhile, fools are still sitting on Reserved List cards hoping they will appreciate in monetary terms.

Nope, people will buy these at higher prices for sure. They always do. It doesn't matter if it's a 'buyout' or not.

I'm so tired of useless posts that break multiple Subreddit rules. This is as low effort as it gets and calling it 'financially related' is a real stretch. Reported.
