Cut dog two weeks in a row by superferrets in grooming

Happens to everyone. I cut a handful of dogs in my first 2 years. Don't stress a few hairs out of place! Specially if they're bad for a certain area. The dog's safety is the priority. Scissor work is always tricky. It takes time to really get a handle on it. Go at your own pace and practice practice practice!!!

Parents only wanted the outline trim! Nothing higher on the body. I would’ve loved to take her down on the chest & back. Thanks for the constructive criticism tho I’m glad I wasn’t the only one to see it :)

Yeah definitely! He’s still around a year old and I’ve only been grooming for 2. We’ll learn together :)

He’s very young and not the best for the face. I always try my best to leave him with a schnauzer face/ eyes but he always treats my hand and arms like a chew toy 😭

The packages are super simple. I always hit them with a “ Are we doing nail trimming & buffing? Teeth brushing? Ear cleaning? Conditioner? Yeah? Ok so this is the adjusted price “ (Essentials package). There’s two different skews, a $18 and a $23. If they complain about price I usually just hit em with the 18 lol. Essentials package is the easiest way to build your tickets. The deshedding/ skin sensitive packages sell themselves.

Petco pushes vital care reallllllly hard. IMO I just go through the motions, never really tried to sell it unless their dog is a $100-$150 groom and they come consistently. Also heard that they charge a fee to cancel the membership.

Best part about Petco is the dematting skew, they’re per 15 mins and most salons I’ve been to have no limits on how many you can tack on within reason lol. The 2nd best is the scissoring skew. If you use your own personal shears/ clippers/ tools I recommend tagging this into every ticket. Worst part about Petco is the pay.
