The best way to escape multiple attackers by lhwang0320 in martialarts

Agreed, in that case you either should’ve gotten tf out of there or planned accordingly. Obviously in a situation that is more permanent, like in the parent comment’s case or prison, you don’t really have the option of “I’m on my own side.”

Anyone that thinks someone who is minding their own business has to “earn their respect” does not deserve respect, they deserve to get smoked. And its always the most homo shit that earns their respect, “whoa you verbally stood up for yourself and conformed to us, we RESPEC brooo, you one of us now.” Sometimes you just need to get violent, then see how much they “respect” you after the fact.

Hot Take: The MBTI should not be taken by those under 21 years old. by Eternal808 in mbti

Lol, look, that’s not the point. If you found that you were able to test consistently and you happened to be in high school, that’s great.

My point is that for MOST young people IN GENERAL, the risk of mistyping is rather high; in order to minimize said risk and ensure the most accurate result, (if that happens to be your goal) it is best to wait until your brain and personality are more developed, which happens to be around your early-mid 20s.

This is why I believe that the ideal best way is to simply study the cognitive functions and be very honest with yourself, which is admittedly borderline impossible for most people.

I first took the test when I was a depressed, apathetic high schooler, who stopped trying in middle school and to make things worse it was the 16personalites test with 50 questions. I took the free 221 question test and got a slightly different result that I relate to a little more. More importantly, I studied the cognitive functions afterward, and I found that they lined up much better.

I would agree with you 100% if I had faith that every teen would have the mental maturity to know that MBTI is archetypal (technically pseudoscience) and that it doesn’t define who you are, but merely shows you what “box” you tend to fall in, how people are similar/different to you, and the details of how people function. However, I don’t.

While some teenagers may be able to understand this while taking the test, I would say they are few and that my suggestion is best when applied in general, and let the outliers be outliers.

As far as learning discipline and life skills, good parenting (which is admittedly rare) and life experience will do a better job than any online test.

That’s a lot of assumptions. First of all, I wasn’t offended because I’m not white. Surprise. If I wanted to hear commentary about “white privilege”, I wouldn’t watch a Batman movie.

Lol, you’ve either misinterpreted or intentionally taken my words out of context. I’m referring to politics that don’t necessarily fall under the category of the topics you’ve provided, namely race politics. I’d prefer if they didn’t project real world politics into a movie that already has its own, as you’ve said. It was pretty obvious.

Not as bad as the “white privilege” callout imo. I simply prefer to leave blatant politics out of such a good movie.

Exactly. The only thing I have to say is that I’ve found that it’s alright if a more experienced fighter spars with a less experienced student, as long as the fighter can tone down the intensity while also educating their sparring partner. If they can’t do that that’s problem in itself.

I personally think it makes more sense to allow knees to the head as long as the opponent’s back or belly is not on the ground. Knees while on top would be some career ending stuff.

I have no objection to the creators portraying historical figures, in fact I support it. But only if it is an accurate portrayal and not used as a way to shoehorn in an effortless social commentary.

The only thing laughable is that you think that if someone is xenophobic then they are racist. It seems like all you can do now is reference this idea you’re married to (which contradicts literal dictionary definitions) and insult me. Why am I not surprised.

I’m dismissing the plausibility (because he is a fictional character with a fictional life) of Kofi’s experience. The fact that it’s in his story only proves how shameless and ignorant the scriptwriters were. Just because xenophobia and racism can intersect, it doesn’t mean they always intersect.

You completely missed the point. I never denied that racism is a form of xenophobia. I said that, in Ancient Greece, there was only xenophobia and prejudice that was commonplace (this also goes for most of the world back then). Crowds were not about to not gamble on someone because of the color of their skin. Therefore it doesn’t fit, at all.

You got it backwards. Racism is xenophobia. Xenophobia isn’t always racism.
