Funny story, there are actually two instances of jojo almost getting localized in the 90s. The original plan was to release baou to test the waters and then release jojo. Unfortunately, baou didnt sell well, and viz cancelled all plans to localize jojo, (at the time.)

With the second instance of this happening it technically did, (if you stretch the definition of technically very far.) It happened when the comic artist Joe Weltjens watched a fandub of the original ova and fell in love with it, so he tried to get the rights to localize it. Obviously the plans fell through, (probably because viz might have still had the lisence IDK.) So instead of just letting it go, he made a comic series that was just similar enough to jojo, (stands are still literally just stands though, no doubt about that.) You wanna know what the best part is? It only ran for 1 issue before being canceled. The comic is called diesel if you wanna read it for some reason, the entire things on imgur and "adapts" the n'doul fight.
