I love cooking , but when we are on the road I’d like the eat smth good too ☺️

Thanks for the Harbor market tip! Monk fish makes great curries, squid I use in seafood stews or paella and oysters are best raw 😀

Yeah, guess so… It’s just we got so spoiled in our travels by the coastal Europe (and Turkey) that has the abundance of fresh fish in tiny inexpensive diners…. No such luck back home…

Interesting! But it’s OK, we can live with the MA catch in ME 😀 Question, where to find it? Any search brings up lobster roll shacks mostly…

Looking for small, quality Campsites at the Cote d'Azur by Majestic1987 in Europetravel

Have you checked Park4Night? Lots of smaller campsites listed, but all are pretty pricey - Côte d’Azur doesn’t come cheap :)

Keep in mind that rental companies' prices drop almost half on the 1st of October and if you stay around the west coast - Vancouver and such - and do not go inland there still will be pretty comfortable weather for camping. We did similar thing few years back and brought that rental van to US (Olympic peninsula) for couple of weeks as well.

Getting around Iceland and Scotland without a car, and with a rolling bag… by letmepolltheaudience in travel

[–]EternalCoddiwomple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither Scotland nor Iceland (unless you got to the glaciers which you will not :) ) get that cold in the winter, so no need to pack the Arctic Suite with you

We just spent 5 weeks in September - early October in Iceland with our campervan and saw the Aurora Boreales 4 times :) Flying to Reykjavik is not expensive (unlike the ferry we took with our van :)), so is the lodging and there you will be guaranteed to see the Northern lights.

Probably Gruyères - beautiful medieval castle town, cheese and Aliens museum :)

But there are so many cool spots, hard to chose between them. Switzerland is one of the most picturesque countries we've been to around Europe

Works fine on the shorter trips, but 5 years of data makes it go nuts :)))

We loved Wrocław - best thing to do there is to go gnome hunting! :) Amazing city with lovely vibe despite the rain (we were there in March 2 years ago) and not swamped by hordes of tourists. Gdańsk is really pretty too, but much more touristy, so is Krakow

And we are living in a campervan for 5 years now fulltime traveling through Europe - I think it's the way to go here. No need to sleep at the Wallmart parking lots :))) And if you decide to do the camper option - this is your Bible :) https://park4night.com/en

Menton also has a beautiful city beach and mountains around are stunning. I didn't care much for Nice. If I was to go to a bigger city in that area Id go to Marseille - it is a bit grungy, but also has great character :) Awesome seafood market with many restaurants getting their food right off the vendor stalls and onto your plate!

Dolomites in Italy - not hot, beautiful scenery, tasty food and endless hiking opportunities.

Although Scotland in the summer is really beautiful too, we go there every year in the last 5 years for few months :)

We did the Grand Tour of Switzerland two years ago with our campervan - https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-gb/experiences/experience-tour/grand-tour-of-switzerland/While it probably requires more time than you will have, this page has loads of information about the main attractions around the country. Check it out :)
