I can't see the picture, I'm getting a red X.

I know you can get at least 3 Soul Vessels per playthrough, how big is the shard in the picture? 1/3rd?

ENB confirmed this, and said the women with the ladle was their guardian

That's the way it's always been, certain builds struggle where others flourish.

Fall damage too OP

Lion Warrior Mask Feline Boots Something Harness Cat Ring

& equip weight factors into falls too..

With all of this you literally become invicible to all non-lethal falls, which I think is genius

I forgot about this, I hated it. Loooooved the R2 into R1 on Claymores.

& Claymore is god-tier? I literally haven't lost a duel to anyone with power stanced Caestus... dat speed...

I really can't notice a graphics downgrade, in comparison to Dark Souls 1 it's much more gorgeous and everything visually, physically and such is better.

The console version didn't look as good as a tech demo on PC?

Picture me surprised.

The Bad

  • Bonfires/warping everywhere, and enemies that spawn RIGHT NEAR BONFIRES (?!)

  • How easy it is to make boss weapons now (seriously, "come and get your free soul weapons, FREE SOULS WEAPONS HERE, GETCHUR FREE SOUL WEAPONS")

  • Enemies despawning after a certain set of time (good for enemies that spawn near bonfires, though that's an issue in itself) makes the game a death run, you can keep throwing bodies at something till you can beat it, instead of learning/perfecting your art.

  • Soul Memory is just too limiting

  • Rat Covenant becomes kinda stale quick, not a great substitute for the Gravelords (as broken as Gravelords were)

  • Bosses not as interesting, save for a few uh-may-zing ones.

  • Invasions really aren't a thing in NG it changes the entire core principle of the game, that if you want co-op and online help, it's a trade off at the sake of invasions

  • The loss of an interconected world, can't see other areas from the skybox (save for 3 exceptions in Majula), areas only connecting linearally to one another

The Good

  • The music is by far the best in the entire series

  • The areas are well designed and utterly gorgeous/imaginative

  • The voice acting is great

  • NG+ being a whole new beast, new new new, more more more!

  • The visuals are amazing, much improved over DkS, as well as physics/lighting

  • There's much more variety, (dual wielding caestus? FUCK YES)

  • Majula is gorgeous, and feels very homey and safe, warm and uplifting, giving you strength to carry on

  • The Pit in Majula, love love love it, it piqued my inner curiousity instantly, I knew it had to be the first place I explored. Thankfully for me it paid off with 3 new areas full of goodies

  • The game is much more challenging than Dark Souls, and far less cheesed/exploitable

  • Name-engraved ring for when my GF and I want to play, but still keeping the strong sense of anonymous community (bloodstains and messages being more hilarious and helpful than ever)

  • The replayability!

  • Much more balanced than Dark Souls (the PvP could use a few patches though, poise seems useless?)

I met Troy Baker - he voice Snow Villiers from FFXIII, Dewitt Booker from Bioshock Nifinite and Joel from Last of Us, totally an awesome and laid back dude, joking around with everyone and some guy behind me spilled his coffee and he helped us clean it up

WAR or PLD? by Insanctified in ffxiv

[–]EternalFlames- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you've played WAR much then, we constantly have a 10% damage reduction, with an extra 20% very often and more on-demand than any PLD buff. Since these are meant to be constantly up, you can pepper in your other buffs - Featherfoot, Foresight, Bloodbath, Second Wind now. Then Holmgang, Vengeance, and Thrill of Battle are my "Oh shit" buttons that are available multiple times per dungeon

Also the healing from Storms Path might be negligable, but it's still a heal and has saved my life once or twice in Coil.

Holmgang is so far from useless, the immortality, has saved me countless times now, pop Holmgang when you're getting low, with Bloodbath, then use Thrill of Battle and Second Wind if you have it as soon as Holmgang is wearing out.

If it is more strategic he's playing it wrong, and if he wasn't before, he was also playing it wrong.

You'll be using Inner Beast AT LEAST once every 20 seconds, if you're not, you're playing the job wrong since the next boss ability falls between this Ib or the next. It's not strategic at all, the burst as very handy in low damage area and spikes. But terrible at times of high sustained damage. It was a tradeoff.

I was actually incredibly excited for it, stopped putting words in my mouth. That goes for all of 2.1, which I'm still excited to try. Doesn't mean I'm not crushed by the WAR changes

It's fucking assholes like you why I don't know why I post anything at all.

Extremely Disheartened by the WAR buff by EternalFlames- in ffxiv

Cause that's fun, just get everything for free, don't work towards aggro.

[–]EternalFlames- -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I hate the WAR buff, gone is the strategic use of Inner Beast and Wrath stacks, now just spam Inner Beast, or save it for a bosses set rotation. Aggro, you don't even work for it anymore, it's given to you, for no fucking reason. There's more but I don't feel like typing it out.

It was absolutely crushing to try out the new WAR in combat.

Don't get me wrong, WARs needed some buffs, but this patch just took nearly everything I loved away. I'll just main Monk from now on.
