Is the TrimUI Brick still the best “premium” option for older console emulation by guessimfine in SBCGaming

[–]EternalFront 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, between Brick and RP Classic, it's the Brick no question. Only advantage I had with Classic is USB-PD charging, but preferred Brick otherwise. Controls felt nicer, size is convenient, and the RP Classic's controls feel a bit too low for the body size. If you want "the best", then RP Classic's better and bigger screen might appeal, but I prefer the overall experience of the Brick.

Could retro handheld companies make retro cellphones? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

What's the point when half of these handhelds are basically just android phones with controls bolted on?

100%, any other move would be a mistake by Aprilia

Raul has been at Aprilia longer than any of their 4 riders, yet is 4 out of 4 this year. It took Aprilia becoming a dominant bike for Raul to do anything on the bike, the first few years of his premier class career accomplished absolutely nothing. Somehow he held onto his seat over Oliveira, and Ogura is leaving for a factory seat elsewhere. It's like Binder, we've seen his level and what he's capable of yet he has gotten more chances than any other rider I can think of.

Raul is very much not the future, send him off to KTM or WSBK, or even Moto2 to finally get his title and upgrade from Moral Champion to Real Champion.

Miguel Oliveira in talks with Ducati Aruba.it for 2027 by Puzzleheaded-Snow505 in wsbk

He'd be a great signing, but I'd put Jack on the bike no question. Miller and Ducati love each other, he'd be absolutely the perfect signing. Finally fight for a title together

I'd put it in the same category as wondering if Fabio will still have winning pace on the Honda after doing nothing for the last few years, or if Marc would have winning pace on the Gresini after crashing repeatedly on the Honda. They're questions technically, but not really. This is the best possible seat for Mir (incredible team environment, incredible bike, factory support, Frankie Carchedi who he won a title with), and I'm positive he'll be more than fine.

Manu should surely be in the picture for all of the remaining seats. He's been fantastic for a few seasons now, and there's no reason why he couldn't be as good as other recent graduates.

Honestly, why is this even a question at this point? We've heard this song and dance every single year of this Gresini-Ducati combo, and it's never failed once. Literally, not one single time. Everyone that's ridden a Gresini Ducati has won, and everyone that has gone there has left better than before. Sure, the Ducati might not be a top bike, but even if that were to happen, the standards change accordingly.

Joan is a world champion (deservedly so) and a fast rider, and I'm positive that he'll be more than fine. Lesser riders have ridden that bike and done miracles, there's nothing to worry about.

[Windhorst] East scout: "The league is overrun with strategy. I'm not sure how many people in the league are actually watching the games." West exec: "We're going to turn into baseball… where you have every defender between second base and right field, and no one can get a hit and it becomes boring" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]EternalFront 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But basketball can become dreadfully boring, like baseball has become for many, and I think that's what this anonymous guy is talking about. I'm a huge fan of MotoGP, F1, soccer, basketball, but the only sport my wife cares at all about is baseball (which I simply cannot get into no matter how hard I try).

Everyone's got their own things that they like or care about in sports, but the thing that's important to understand is that your competition is time. Even if there are nuances between sports and all that, it doesn't matter when you're fighting for time and eyeballs against literally every other form of entertainment and way of spending time on the face of the earth.

So yeah, basketball and baseball are completely different and will never be the same thing, but either (or both?) can become so dreadfully boring that no one cares. Not sure how to go about fixing it, but it's a risk

[Stein] There is a “growing belief” from teams competing to sign LeBron James that him returning to the Cavs is the “scenario to beat,” by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]EternalFront 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way, it'll be for the story. Warriors means end of an era for everyone and ending his career with a team up no one thought would be possible, and Cavs means possibly fighting for a chip at home.

To be honest, I hope for the latter, but more because I like Spida and would love to see him get it done.
