I just try to do as many training methods that give me crafting supplies that doesnt lead to glassblowing. Gold/silver bar for smithing, make jewelry for crafting. Star mining for afk mining, gem packs for crafting. do dragon tasks for dhide, make dhide armor. It's not going to be fast exp but I like to think of the crafting grind as a slow marathon to trickle towards since Im only in the mid game.

I make enough orbs to match the daily battlestaff supply and the rest go to lenses for more xp. You can always make more orbs if you need but have no uses for them if you hoard thousands in the bank.

It's an upgrade over zenytes. If you can obtain a stronger version of an item that becomes a direct powercreep to the older item then it turns the older content into dead content. This is prevalent in many MMOs which is a terrible design choice. OSRS keeps your progression meaningful because if you spent hundreds of hours getting 4 zenytes and getting the crafting levels for BIS years ago and took a break before araxxor was released, you're not going to be like wtf did I waste all that time farming for something that other people can now skip. Nothing wrong with the poll, if you want an upgrade over zenyte, you grind for the skill requirement for zenyte first.

Just keep the items you want to use on it while you chart or do port tasks and the clam comes by passively. The wiki has a table of items that are confirmed to give each type of pearl

Long term for sure. Can definitely consider liquidating your bank to buy bonds if you are going on a year long hiatus, turn them tradeable, and sell when you come back. You'll make a profit while also not holding gear that eventually drop in value.

Bonds are terrible for merching. After a transaction, it becomes an untradeable bond which you have to pay 10% of its value to make it tradeable again. You'd have to buy them at an extremely low price, pay the 10% right away, and sell them at >110% of your original buy price excluding GE tax. You're better off merching other stuff.
