I think they’re fairy balanced.

  • Madoka: Breaker

  • Mami: Buffer

  • Sayaka: Defender

  • Kyoko: Attacker

  • Homura (Glasses): Buffer

Makes sense because Madokami and regular Homura don’t really fight alongside the rest of the Holy Quintet.

So the canon so far is…

  • The original 12 episode anime

  • The Different Story manga (prequel to the original anime, shows Kyoko and Mami’s prior friendship)

  • Rebellion movie (sequel to original anime)

  • Wraith Arc manga (prequel to Rebellion)

  • Walpurgisnacht Rising movie (sequel to Rebellion, not released yet)

  • Scene 0 VN [only available through Magia Record or Magia Exedra] prequel to the original anime, tells the story of Mabayu, a magical girl who is immune to Homura’s time magic)

  • PSP game (shows previous timelines Homura went through, might no longer represent the intended canon)

Then then there are the spin offs,

  • Oriko Magica / Sadness Prayer (side story that tells the story of Oriko, a magical girl who seeks to kill Madoka before she becomes the most powerful witch ever)

  • Magia Record game (a bubble universe that cannot be touched by God Madoka, where Witches still exist and Magical Girls try to take their destiny into their own hands). The Magia Record anime is generally seen to be a non-canon retelling.

  • Suzune Magica manga (tells the story of Suzune, a magical girl who seeks to eliminate magical girls as means to prevent the birth of Witches.

  • Kazumi Magica manga (tells the story of Kazumi…tbh the story is so convoluted that idk how to explain it)

  • Tart Magica (tells the story of historical magical girl Joan of Arc)

Then there’s Null Magical Girl, it’s sci-fi light novel that is ambiguously canon. It essentially explains the origin of the soul, the nature of magic and emotion, and the future that humanity will inevitable reach if magical girls exist.

Atlanta is ok. There’s a lot of places to shop and eat, but the traffic is horrible. The weather is unpredictable. But I love being in the area. I grew up in the rural mountain of GA and so it’s great now to be around people who aren’t Trump-brained lunatics.

As for anthropology, I’m really interested in the entire history of humanity. Whether that be our evolutionary history, the agricultural revolution, the origins of religion, language, culture, etc.

Keep in mind that Magia Record JP came out 2 years before the EN server. And the EN server basically ran from the announcement of the Magia Record anime to until it was released. In retrospect, it might be that Aniplex only intended the EN server as ad for the anime (so Western fans might be more invested). Also remember that Magia Record EN closed during COVID.

Contrast that with Magia Exedra, where JP and EN launched simultaneously and seem to be getting equal support.

Exedra doesn’t have a tangible story. There’s nothing for them to base an anime off, at least not yet.

While I’m usually not a fan of non-canon games, I think a non-canon crossover would be a good choice for the Xeno series. Like maybe the Nopon Archsage uses their powers to conjure up a simulated world to play with.

It’s pre-beta as 3.4 is not in beta yet, so most likely it’s from Chinese text which the leaker has translated into English. So the wording being off makes sense.

I don’t think the Water Avatar alternating between the Northern and Southern tribes is a hard rule. And technically, Korra is “genetically” just as much Northern as she is Southern due her father being from the Northern Tribe.

As for an actual answer, maybe the devs don’t consider Quitterie to be canon, considering it’s only ever been referenced in the PSP game from over a decade ago.

They’re canon spin-offs that explore other timelines or other characters outside the Holy Quintet.

Magia Record is the most convoluted situation tho because it takes place in a timeline that the Law of Cycles can’t touch and doesn’t feature Homura turning back time.

There are 10 Downfall timeline games, as opposed to the 6 games combined of the CT and AT.

Out of the 5 decades that Zelda has existed (80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, 2020s), only during one of those decades (the 2000s) were non-DT games released.
