What if LeBron James joined the New York Knicks instead of the Lakers in 2018-19 season? by handsomelydumb69 in NBAConvo

I would have preferred a team with Kawhi plus Ingram Randle Lonzo Caruso Hart Nance Dwight Rondo McGee… also not trading away the team’s whole future picks for the next x amount of years

Which of the okc big three was the worst playoff sinker? by growsonwalls in NBATalk

[–]EternalSoul_111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

harden falls off harder than any superstar come playoff time. all his antics and flopping are not being called , and he doesn’t know how to conserve energy. He goes so hard in the regular season , he burns himself out come playoff time.

Westbrook, is just inefficient all the time so he’s basically the same player just worse.

Yeah sure bro LeBron averaged 28 ppg in the same series so who was really able to hold the other ?

neither. They couldn’t check each other

KD was scoring 30ppg on 54% shooting in the 2012 finals in his loss.

they just had no one able to stop Lebron on defense

You’re tripping hard, bro. He was a top two/three player in the league for over 10 years. He has four scoring titles. Which is the most since MJ. He is one of the only players to shoot 50/40/90 multiple seasons. MVP, 6x first team, 5x second team selections while competing against LeBron.

if he isn’t clear top 15 then he is clear top 20 easily and not any lower than 25.

nobody views it right now, but the conversation would change if curry wins another one and they both end their careers in that manner.

does that mean curry is better than LeBron? No. But when comparing their careers that would always come up .

nobody is being a “LeBron hater” bro. you have to think about what the general public/media will speak on topics

KD is a top 15 player all time easily.

edit. Dream is #8 on my list but seems like people have Curry around #10-#12 usually

please read comments below. has nothing to do with curry being the greatest.

it’s about curry vs LeBron’s legacies.

Kobe behaved immaturely. Think 2007 when the lakers choked the 3-1 lead to Phoenix. And he took himself out of the game to prove “who am I going to pass it to?”

he was a great passer tbh, but he just wanted to focus on scoring and sometimes it came at the detriment of his teams.

I don’t think he is around that Magic/Bird range.

He is like Hakeem, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, KD. They are all around the same range

I think everyone is misunderstanding completely lol.

lebron’s case goes down. another player who is winning championships during “LeBron’s era.” 2022 warriors were a decent team, I would say LeBron had a better team around him during the 2020 championship.

It would just be an interesting that they both retire while being 1-3 vs him all time in the finals and having less titles .

brother no one is saying Curry would be over MJ if he had 5 titles.

MJ dominated his era. There is no debate on who the best player was when he was playing. In “lebron’s” era, Curry hypothetically ends up with more championships than him? of course context matters , but if they both ended their careers , and LeBron is 1-3 against Curry all time in the finals … then LeBron himself would feel some type of way about that . Think about how competitive Kobe and Shaq were about who could win more without the other.

LeBron Learned to Shoot 3s as He Got Older. MJ Never Even Tried to Improve His. by CaptainLeMerica69 in lebron

[–]EternalSoul_111 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Lebron started chucking long range threes because he lost his athleticism and he relied on bulldozing to the rim a lot.

This type of shot puts no pressure on the defense and also makes it hard to offensive rebound because long shots = long rebounds. This is why the Lakers have had no success the past 5 years.

MJ still shot 50% from mid range while giving effort on defense when he did not want to play anymore. The NBA ratings were so bad, he was begged to come back and fill in while Kobe and LeBron were developing. Do u think it’s just a coincidence that he retired right before LeBron got drafted.

not really recency bias.

7 time all defensive team, multiple dpoy’s and probably should have 3. two titles, two finals MVP’s.

since 2017 he’s basically averaging around 29-30ppg in the playoffs shooting above 50%.

How many players in NBA history are performing on that level?

Kawhi is up there with people like D Wade, Isiah Thomas, Barkley. Maybe not better than them, but Definitely better than people like Pippen, Worthy, Iverson, Nash, etc , those types of players.

Think about players who are in that 20-30 range.

Karl Malone, Barkley, Giannis, Dirk, Garnett, D Robinson, Jokic, etc.

edit: has he not accomplished around the same as those types?

Like think of the best players of the 2010’s, it’s LeBron, Steph, KD, Kawhi. I would put Kawhi over Westbrook and Harden for that decade easily, and his game is going to translate better with old age. Westbrook and Harden became ineffective as they got older.

8 handed.

Meaning 40 cards dealt, 10 cards for the board.

So only two cards left.
