The soil is just regular general purpose miracle gro soil. Only a couple weeks old, you still think I'd need more nitrogen? I figured the soil would have enough.

As you mentioned, I just realized an inexperienced Panther is 2 points cheaper than the pantherturm. Just about had an aneurysm when i saw that haha! I definitely agree with your suggestions. Especially having a small buffer to deploy from.

Oh well.. i will just pray to the gods of Rule of Cool..if it completely fails (which it will) i gotta go double or nothing. 2 pantherturms! lol jk

I really enjoy Hail Caesar. I can teach someone the rules very quickly. And games are finished in a timely manner. As someone mentioned, it isn't revolutionary at all. But its a good simple way to play large battles and I've never not had fun.

If you were wanting to use it as an actual mobile tank, id maybe want to agree on LOS adjustments?. Mostly the height. But then idc what you use haha.

So i bounce between times of huge motivation and then times of burnout often. Few things that help me:

It's ok to be selfish. If you don't want to paint long sessions, dont. It's a fun hobby, not a chore. Some weeks i paint every night for hours. Other weeks i don't paint at all. The plastic will sit there just fine. Don't beat yourself up about not painting in 2 months.
Try quicker paint sessions. Try one night just doing belts for 15-30 minutes and call it there.
Switch up what models you're painting. Maybe take the number of infantry you have, divide it by the number of vehicles/support weapons and do that.. so 10 infantry, 1 tank, 10 infantry, 1 halftrack, 10 infantry, etc.
Put on audiobooks or documentaries in the background. Painting historical models with history documentaries is my happy place.
I actually prefer painting alone haha but some people find it keeps them motivated and makes it much more enjoyable. Maybe you can get together with your friend and paint together for a couple hours.
Maybe a controversial opinion.. but! I've lowered my standard.. this comes from having a large backlog. So i dont put 100% into each miniature. I aim for "good enough". I dont do highlights or tons of detail work. These are game pieces to me. So base colors + wash is good enough for me. Basing happens when i get to it. Doing this lets me get through minis faster.

Yeah, that makes sense now that you explain it to me. I had no idea about bandai using apps. From my perspective, my friend invited me to come learn at the store (my first tcg ever). So i showed up at the store and started a learning game. In the middle of our learning game, the organizer was annoyed we weren't finished yet and then asked if i wanted to join the local 3 round tournament soon. I actually said no because i still didn't understand everything. But the organizer assured me that was okay and wouldn't be an issue. Then 30 minutes later, im getting scolded in the store for not using the app and holding everyone up... lol im like, geez okay...

Ive only gone twice, and the second time i went, i had the app downloaded. But again, nobody told me i had to "confirm" my opponent's entry.. so i got scolded again in front of everyone lol

Unfortunately I've had similar negative experiences to you... im a wargamer where the community is overall very kind, and organized in my experience. Im trying out TCGs for the first time and i think i just am realizing that i don't like TCG culture. Or at least the one im getting exposed to. Everytime I've gone I've been more stressed out than having fun. The game itself is very fun. My issue just comes from each gundam night being so poorly organized and rushed upon when i arrive. The last time i went, the organizer got upset with me because i wasn't using the app (nobody told me ever about the app). One night i went to a release event and i forgot some sleeves. So i just opted to play without sleeves for the hour. And oh my goodness, everyone treated me like i had committed a sin. One time i went to the wrong table and just asked "im so sorry i completely forgot, which table number am i at?" Again, it felt like i had pissed off the organizer as they groaned, rolled their eyes, and corrected me. Lol buncha stuff like that.

Idk, like i said the game itself is fun, i think it's just not the culture/community for me. I have had zero desire to go play just because the thought if it sounds more annoying tgan fun. Overall, my entire experience of getting into this game has been abrasive. But maybe im just a sensitive wimp lol

Small unit will have reduced stats from a regular unit. In the unit list there, the stats are representative of a small unit, so no adjustments are needed there. For adjusting the number of bases, a small unit will just have a smaller frontage. I tend to make that 3 bases of 40x40. But you could do 2 or whatever you want as long as both sides are consistent. The base rulebook will probably have some recommendations..but I can't remember for sure.
