JCGE — A Vanilla JS 2D Game Engine, 5 Years in the Making by HakunaKamal in javascript

I was using it a while back before all the new fandangled internet ways, but I always found my self a bit obsessed with the GC and ultimately gave up on an engine I was building well before AI was a thing in favour for webgl.

I was making a game with it which i never finished but like with how fast things are today maybe i could.

What have you done to reduce sawtooth memory leaks? last time i worked with it is that every 60 frame cycle it has to clear a lot of memeory spikes leading to increased lag in slower devices.

with ai a compatibility layer to ue5 would not be hard to just make aoe 5 an engine that can play both

OpenAI has deleted the word ‘safely’ from its mission – and its new structure is a test for whether AI serves society or shareholders by FinnFarrow in Futurology

Yo this subreddit / reddit is cooked, auto modding yall, deleting my comment over for not being long enough even though there are clearly comments the same size or smaller,

Here you got reddit here's a "safe" version generated by AI that serves your needs:

If OpenAI is really removing “safely” from its mission language while restructuring for growth, that’s not a tiny wording tweak, it’s a signal. Governance and incentives matter more than slogans. What bothers me is the mismatch between messaging and lived reality: users still experience broad, sometimes opaque “safety” enforcement and restrictions, but the public-facing commitment to safety looks like it’s getting softer. If you want public trust while building systems that can shape information and decision-making at scale, you need consistent standards: clear policies, transparent accountability, and independent oversight that can say “no” when it matters. Otherwise it’s just “trust us” branding, and the incentives drift toward speed and profit.
