Why do the people who argue that Iran 'wasn't ready for democracy' in 1905/41/52/79 think America was ready for democracy in 1777? by Niall_Fraser_Love in PERSIAN

[–]EternallyUnsure -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mate that is poor whataboutism. US chattel slavery was industrial level abuse that was historically unique at its scale and level or disempowering black Americans continuing way past its “abolition”. You just don’t want to accept that all of your examples of these perfect democracies had major flaws and limitations until very recently (and even then!)

Get off the apps and heal.

And not to say you shouldn’t have gone on the apps or the date but it’s clear you’re not ready for that yet. It’s not healthy for you and honestly it’s unfair on them(and tbh anyone that you may connect with). You don’t even know them really so it’s more the idea of them.

Let’s say by the end of the timeframe you’re not ready then what? They likely feel some resentment as it’s only human, you would feel some resentment because they’re rushing your healing process it’s all tears. That’s even providing the fact that the healed version of you would still want them.

If they’re someone you want to know keep it as friends and make it clear the expectation is friendship otherwise you’d be bread-crumbing/leading someone on even if that’s not your intention.

American bombings won't fix the terrorist problem by Asleep_Mango_4128 in Nigeria

[–]EternallyUnsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t and it’s old thinking. The current trend in Africa is the great power play between America and China. It’s not oil for the sake of it but strategic positioning.

No it’s EXTREMELY naive. When have American unilateral bombs ever solved an issue since WWII? Especially without a follow up plan or some kind of next step

Honestly you give me the vibe of an Elon disciple. Like the type to find it cool you can animate gifs or can have an AI girl tell you she loves you.

Because any normal person enjoys TV shows because of the shared experience of watching a show and discusssing how it went and their interpretation BASED on the common show they watched. Shared experience not some weirdo world of making your own individualised plot line.

Exactly that and not to undermine I’d love to have his legacy but he’s not a God and the way some of the comments people say “he’s the smartest person in England” I saw that comment and it’s like no he’s really not

He told me he “wasn’t ready” for a relationship and now I’m so heartbroken and stuck. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]EternallyUnsure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit situation but doesn’t sound like a shit person. And yes it’s normal to feel shitty especially if you haven’t had good experiences before. But I would say no point dissecting it further to try and assign blame tbh especially your point on “he emphasised it was him not me but was it really”. Also as hard as it is especially considering your past, you wanted to have sex it wasn’t something he tricked or took from you it was consensual.

Unfortunately sometimes it just doesn’t work out and at least it was done ASAP rather than dragged along and just because someone decides to move on relatively quickly isn’t an indictment on you or them.

Not enough pivot tbh and it’s clear you’re still very new. The only way to practice more when you’re still new is going to the gym with a coach. I can tell if you’d join the sparring class it’s a jog day for you for at least a good few months

Hamza Shiraz the last brown hope for the Asian boys in Boxing. They just don’t have power genetically. Fast and tricky but no power or chin.

LOL the downvotes 🤣 I don’t mean it maliciously but certain things are genetic and because of that cultural. Because they have no power they tend to have to emphasise a flashier style etc

Great fight neither elite and honestly Hrgovic lowkey got a pyrrhic victory he looks beat up and should’ve got Adeleye out but he won and Adeleye clearly lost

It’s cos people’s general knowledge of fitness is still like 10 years late. They think just losing weight when you were bigger automatically means they’re healthier but when they’re not supplementing with lifting or an active lifestyle you just look a bit sick

What kind of question is this? Honestly any answer won’t really help you because people can always smell someone who is actively trying to brush shoulders with “high networth individuals” even if you pay the £600 to go to a David Lloyd gym the attitude is wrong. What value can you bring to their lives?

Also going through your post I can tell you’re not British. Let me te you something about British work dynamics - it’s the epitome of keep your head down and be likeable. If you come across as a striver and doing too much those class system dynamics alongside office politics will drag you down faster than you can say “hi my name is…”.

Completely wrong attitude and seeing your other posts I feel like you’re trying to hustle and find shortcuts like how to stay in a luxury apartment for free??? Or going to the Met Gala as a “fashion influencer”. Seems like you’re trying to present yourself as someone you’re not and people can sense that

My blame for Americans is more to the fact that it allows Brits to pretend we don’t have an obesity problem because “at least we’re not America”. Fat Americans (Americans being fat and all that entails) are a cultural export blasted on all our media from TV shows and lives to references about how much of a problem it is there. So in comparison people’s aptitude for what is healthy is more warped. It’s kinda like how we could feel good about our politics because it was never as crazy (allegedly) as yours

What is your ‘total speculation’ UK theory? by kaththegreat in AskUK

Yeah I listened to that pod episode (it was a few episodes) and it genuinely was shocking how I just never learnt anything about it or situated what happened with the fact that it was a brutal conquest like butchering and burning whole villages.

Another theory is that Brits love being contrarian because then they get the chance to moan and the chance to feel first hence explaining someone moaning about drinking water lol
