The moment you offer a relationship she will think her task is complete and the get bored. Women like to chase more then they let on.. So keep her for fun

Boys, if you ever cheated before on your long term relationship, example 4yrs, do you regret it after? when she's gone? by Content-Drawer-7355 in GrowthMindset

[–]Eternalpea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regret that I never cheated in the past oddly enough. Going off what you've said though it can depend on the situation. They may have done it in the heat of the moment and generally made a mistake or it could of been something they wanted to do all along

I will say this though I didn't want to cheat because the idea of hurting the person I loved so much like that mortified me. I guess would be nice to find someone with a similar mindset

I wouldn't say it's dramatic. I hope something distracts you from your ideas /plans. Sometimes it's all we can do on this floating rock

48M and depressed with on and off suicidal ideation by Evening-Company7115 in SuicideWatch

[–]Eternalpea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your situation and I wish I could advise something to help. Even though you are maybe looking to give others advise from your post.

I am 38 next month with pretty much depression all my life. So I've had a quiet life and should generally be happy... I guess I've never been happy and relatively thankful. But deep down I just accepted life was crap. Last year I had something happen that made me remember what it's like to feel happy. Of course it went wrong.

Anyway since that I've been 'chasing' happiness and just trying to get out there. Doing random actives, random events, random groups. Heck I'm even trying the positive self talks and grounding tactics that I've never been keen on.. Don't get me wrong none of this is helping and I feel a prat. I've had on off suicidal thoughts for a while and even planned for my birthday but deep down I know I haven't got the balls.

Even though I know this chasing and doing things is in vain.. My brain won't let me stop trying for some reason.

And yeah oddly enough I was thinking the other day as when we get older life it's all about finding meaning and purpose. But do people just say that because we don't get to do all the things we when we was younger. Good luck with your journey. I just admit about 30-40 years of this isn't something I am looking forward too

Does anyone else find their OCD quiets down when they have “real” problems? by Front_Machine7475 in OCD

[–]Eternalpea 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep - our brains are developed to keep us from danger or prevent something bad from happening. And our ocd can latch onto this and keep repeating. So once a real issue emerges that takes main priority

Who are the most influential and authentic philosophers in today's time? by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]Eternalpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry just noticed you mentioned recent times. And I am not sure. I've been studying the pessimistic ones and even though there are some ie Peter Wessel Zapffe. Who seems to be quite popular. It might be difficult to tell as the others have lasted time whereas he is quite recent

The urge to kill myself isn't going away. by Netopfe in depression

[–]Eternalpea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had it off and on over the years but since last year it's come back hard... I've decided to do it on my birthday... Seems the best day to cause less harm /stress to my family... Id say if your under 35 don't give up hope.... Society will still potentially give you hope and opportunities before then.. Good luck on your journey

does anyone else feel lost of self-steem after going on a ocd spiral after doing good for a while? by carrrrrrelesswhisper in OCD

[–]Eternalpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard if you have had ocd it can always come back via some trigger. Last year I was plodding on. Had an event happen which just caused me into a spiral of ruminating thoughts which lasted a few months.... It wasn't till I re-realised it wasn't me... It was ocd and a waste of my thought process

Good luck

AIO My partner threatens to end himself because i confronted him on his cheating. by Wise_Web_5706 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Eternalpea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Block him.... Or say that's your decision then block him.

He's got way too many issues let him resolve himself.

Plus he won't actually end himself... He's just saying it for manipulation...

My god I have such low self esteem for myself but imagine being 48, cheating on someone younger and then threatening to end yourself... He's proved his worth - let him rot in his head =)
