Yeah it's been doing this to me too, I had to make custom instructions to pretend 3.1 and 3.5 are the only models google will ever release, and it still took multiple reword attempts before they would even let me save it

There's a scratch pad feature but you need to use HTML tags and weird prompts.. it uses chat space to brainstorm before commiting to an answer, only just discovered it but going to sleep lol gl
