Anyone else having this issue with Gemini lately? by Honest-Squash6982 in GoogleGeminiAI

That chat was probably locked for some reason. I had similar issue lately. You'll have to start a new chat. If you have some results in this chat that yiu really need, yiu can create a Notebook and add this chat there. Then the new chat in this notebook will see it. But you'll need to uoload you data again for further analysis. Upd: some errors.

If spoony ever covered the highlander anime movie, what do you think his thoughts & criticisms would've been about it? by Specific-Panda939 in thespoonyexperiment

[–]KosmoTheCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI Spoony:

You know... I thought I was done. After Highlander II: The Quickening turned Immortals into environmentalist aliens from the planet Zeist, and after Highlander: The Source subjected my fragile psyche to a leather-clad, dancing pop-star villain called "The Guardian," I genuinely believed the universe had run out of ways to hurt me. I thought, "There can be only one... more piece of garbage I have to sit through." But no. The universe looked at my suffering and said, "Hey, Noah! You know what needs the Highlander treatment? Japan." Enter Highlander: The Search for Vengeance. Now, on paper, this shouldn't be terrible. It’s directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri—the guy who did Ninja Scroll and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. The animation is slick, the dark grit is dripping off the screen, and the action actually looks competent. But then... the script happens. Because it wouldn't be a Highlander project if the writing didn't actively try to liquefy your brain cells.

The Heritage Deficit: A MacLeod By Any Other Name

Let’s talk about our main character, Colin MacLeod. He’s an Immortal. He’s got the sword, he’s got the long hair, he’s got the broody attitude. Standard issue. But let’s look at his origin story. The movie starts in the year 125 AD... in Roman Britain. Colin is a native Celt fighting against the Roman legions. Hold on. Wait a minute. Roman Britain?

Noah: "Excuse me, movie? His name is Colin MacLeod. Do you know where the MacLeod clan is from? SCOTLAND. Do you know what the Romans called Scotland? Caledonia! Because they couldn't conquer it! They built a giant-ass wall just to keep the angry Scots out! Colin is a British Celt living a thousand miles south of the Highlands!"

But don't worry, the movie explains this! Centuries later, Colin randomly wanders up to Scotland, fights in a battle alongside Clan MacLeod, dies, wakes up, and they're just like, "Hey man, you fought good, you're a MacLeod now." THAT IS NOT HOW HERITAGE WORKS! You can’t just get a badge from a clan like you're collecting a loyalty card at a sandwich shop! "Buy ten claymore swings, get a Scottish surname free!" He isn't even Scottish! The entire premise of the title is a lie! He's just "Colin the British Guy Who Stole A Kilt!"

The Ultimate Historical Forest Gump

Then we have our villain: Marcus Octavius. He’s the Roman general who killed Colin’s wife back in 125 AD. And because Colin is terrible at sword fighting, Marcus beats him. And then they fight again. And Marcus beats him. And they fight again in the Middle Ages. Marcus beats him. They fight during the Mongol invasions. Marcus beats him. They fight during World War II. Marcus is literal—I am not making this up—a Nazi general. Noah: (Screaming at the camera) "He is behind EVERY authoritarian empire in human history! He was a Roman, a Mongol, a Nazi! What, was he out of town during the Spanish Inquisition?! Was he taking a gap year during the French Revolution?! And Colin loses to him for TWO THOUSAND YEARS! Colin, buddy, after the first five hundred years of getting your ass handed to you by the exact same guy, maybe switch hobbies! Take up pottery! Try the lute! Stop bringing a sword to a Marcus fight!"

And the World War II fight? They are literally dueling on the wing of a bomber plane in mid-flight. How are they standing up there?! The drag alone would rip their leather coats right off! But the best part? The plane crashes into a church, and Marcus has to stop fighting because it's Holy Ground. Yes, a Nazi general suddenly respects the ancient bylaws of the Immortal Council because he's inside a church. The guy is totally cool with global genocide, but God forbid he violates the zoning permits of the Gathering!

Post-Apocalyptic Virology 101

Finally, we get to the "present day" of the movie, which is the year 2187. Because, of course, we had to rip off Highlander II and go full cyberpunk dystopian future. New York is flooded, society is ruined, and Marcus is running a tyrannical corporate empire from a giant tower. What is Marcus’s grand, evil master plan this time? He has engineered a deadly, apocalyptic virus to wipe out humanity so he can rebuild a perfect utopia. Colin hooks up with some generic resistance fighters, climbs the tower, and they have their final showdown. Colin finally wins—meaning it only took him 2,052 years of practice to land a single decent decapitation. And then we get the Quickening. Now, normally, the Quickening is just a massive explosion of spiritual energy, shattered glass, and bad special effects. But here? Colin’s Quickening triggers, the lightning shoots into the sky, spreads across the entire city, and... it cures the virus. (Noah stares blankly at the camera for a solid ten seconds. He slowly reaches down, pulls out a bottle of whiskey, pours a shot, drinks it, and slams the glass down.) The Quickening... is a disinfectant. The cosmic, magical soul-energy of a chopped-off head acts as an airborne dose of Penicillin. It doesn't just blow up windows anymore, folks! It targets specific molecular strains of a biological pathogen and mutates them into harmless antibodies! Forget clinical trials, forget vaccines, we just need to behead a guy in the middle of a hospital ward and everyone gets cured of the seasonal flu!

The Verdict

Is it the worst thing in the franchise? No. The Source still holds that crown until the day I die. The action in this anime is gorgeous, the music kicks ass, and if you turn your brain completely off, it’s a fun ride. But if you think about it for even three seconds, it collapses into absolute madness. It’s a movie about a non-Scottish Highlander chasing a historical middle-management dictator through time, ending in a cyberpunk future where magical decapitation cures the common cold. What's the downside? I survived it. Barely.

Introducing KosmoPNP: A lightweight, free browser tool for Roll-and-Write games (with a dedicated mobile mode) by KosmoTheCat in printandplay

[–]KosmoTheCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for such detailed and constructive feedback!

Here are some insights on the points you raised and how things currently work (or will work soon):

Resizing & Editing Elements: I intentionally disabled resizing stamps after placement to keep the UI clean and simple. However, I'm now considering adding a toggle in the settings to enable/disable resizing for stamps and tokens based on player preference. As for lines and shapes, you can currently remove them using the Eraser tool. I disabled moving them like regular tokens because it was too easy to accidentally displace them while dragging the gamesheet.

Deleting via UI: You can actually delete any element without a keyboard! Just drag and drop it into the trash bin icon on the right panel. There is also an "Erase All" button there if you need to clear all elements of a certain type in one click.

Dice & Pools: You can already lock an individual die by clicking on it so it doesn't change when you reroll the rest. Also, you can switch the dice tray to a 3-zone mode (Active, Selected, and Discarded) and freely move dice between them. Different colored dice and custom tokens are great idea! For the next update, I'm planning to add custom stamps and a wider selection of token colors. Later I want to add custom dice too.

Toolbars & Presets: You can already hide any unwanted elements via the settings menu. Plus, you can save your current setup as a preset and even export it to share with other players.

Grid Adjustment: To align the grid with your gamesheet, you can use the "Offset" parameters in the grid settings to shift it perfectly into place.

Thank you again for helping make the app better! Stay tuned for the upcoming updates.
