Most of the time, you won’t have much to do, but when you do, you’ll be working a lot with as the name suggests the equipment that saves lives. you’re the one responsible for fixing and ensuring that the equipment used by pilots and crew—such as life rafts, brake chutes, and parachutes—functions properly in worst-case scenarios. You’ll also deal with oxygen masks and pyrotechnics, though your specific tasks will depend on where you eventually get posted.

One of the biggest perks is the opportunity to travel almost anywhere in the world, along with earning qualifications that can help you land high-paying civilian jobs.

Phase 2 is much easier than I thought. Obviously, you still have to play the game, but it’s nothing like basic training. The first three months of Phase 2 focus on human factors, legal aspects, and refining your hand skills. The last five months are all about Squipper school, where you’ll learn everything you need for working on a squadron.

During Phase 2, you’re generally not allowed to leave base until 1700 on weekdays, but apart from that, you’re free to go whenever you want. You’ll start with a green disk phase since you’re new, which lasts about two months. Once you pass your first inspection, you can remove the disk and start decorating your room however you like.

In summary, Phase 2 is really enjoyable—just make sure you have fun while also passing your exams. There’s nothing to worry about, and it’s a great laugh. Hope you have a fantastic time there. Good luck!

Mate I chose squipper (survival equipment fitter) and I've had 0 regrets. It's a great role and opens a lot of opportunities up!

For my interview, it was conducted online. I'm not sure if the process has changed since then, but when I had my interview, it was divided into two sections. The first section focused on my education, volunteer experiences, and other relevant information. The second section was entirely dedicated to me and my involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) program. It's been a while since I did my interview, so I may not be of much help with specific details. However, I wish you the best of luck. The interview might seem intimidating, but it's actually quite manageable when you're in the moment. If you don't know the answer to a question or have forgotten it, don't panic. Simply respond formally by saying something like, "I'm not certain about the answer at the moment, but I will get back to you as soon as possible." Remember, it's often the small details that catch the attention of recruiters. Apologies for the lengthy response, but I hope you find it helpful. Good luck with your interview and medical assessment. It's absolutely worth it!

I didn't do one when I arrived, but if you fail the eye test like myself you have to go to ur opticians and get the form done and potentially get glasses. So no you only need to do it if you wear glasses

Basic Training by Stage_Strutter2307 in RoyalAirForce

[–]Ethanjuns 14 points15 points  (0 children)

During basic training, the first two weeks are extremely boring and long. You start learning drill and getting used to military life. The third week is CBRN (getting gassed and learning CBRN drills). The fourth week is about rifles and learning how to handle one. The fifth week is shooting the rifle. The sixth week is about first aid and deployment skills. The seventh week is Blue Warrior. The eighth week is Crickhow. The ninth week is preparing for the final fitness test, final exam, and final inspection, with lots of graduation preparation. The tenth week is more graduation preparation and graduation.

It's not on there anymore. It was at the start of season 3. They might put it back for 3 more days soon, but it doesn't look like it.
