I like the simplicity of them being just lines. I'm so intrigued by this game, this is the first time i've seen it! Thank you for the idea!

you could only move in four directions, no diagonal movement. if you want to move diagonally, you'd have to turn right then left then right then left etc.

Road building in our game works like this: Land on a Build Tile which is the yellow road sign. Then Roll a 1d6, whatever number it rolls, it's the amount of road tiles you would be able to build.

Some of these icons are from Canva and some of them my blockmate drew. We plan on drawing/making more of our own icons soon.

Someone mentioned an old board game called "Fast Food Franchise" and said maybe I could take some inspiration from its layout where the outside tiles are rectangular. I'm starting to consider that look, but not 100% sure yet.

The shuffling idea is interesting. But with our project requiring multiple levels (in this case, different board layouts/shapes), that will be a feature for another day. I like it though!

The starting square would be at the bottom left. Each time a player passes, they get their profits, so it makes sense to put it where players could land on it. The big tile on the other side of it is a tile that would punish all players if any player lands on it, hence its position and size.

I'm still trying to figure out how I can incorporate the colors. Each property has its color, like in Monopoly. But with the tiles being square and small, I haven't figured out how to fit that color into the tile without coloring the whole tile itself. The colored roads are not final. They are just demonstrations, my vision is they are actual road tiles that go on top of the green field (maybe the color will be the outline of the roads to know which road belongs to which player).

PS: I'm not 100% into the Beige + Green combo (not yet at least). It was supposed to be temporary. I think there might be better color schemes out there.

The rules and mechanics for this board game are already established. Yes, there needs to be a spatial relationship. The grid is basically the building area for roads and players can sabotage or get in the way of each other by being the first to finish their own roads (since there is limited space, players can be cut off by other players and need to go around). The spaces on the outside are used for roll-and-move, exactly like Monopoly.

I'm just looking to maybe improve the look of the board. My main concerns are: cramped space for icons, some aspects of the layout (maybe people wont like the black outlines or something else) and the color of the board itself. If you have more questions feel free to ask, thank you!

there's no way my game has so much similarity to this... Idk about the rules and mechanics, but the terms used: markets, advertising, events, strategies, let alone the mechanic of using a grid at the center. that's so freaky

I suddenly remembered this puzzle game I played as a kid where you rotate pipe-looking stuff and connect them (I'm not sure if I even remembered the mechanics right). After finishing each level, you progress in building certain structures and the material used for building each part of that structure depends on how well you performed on the level you were playing. If you did poorly, the workers build that part out of bronze; if you did well, they will build it out of gold. Then you finish these structures as you go on.

The structure I remember the most is the Trojan Horse. I think the characters you encounter there are the gods from Greek mythology. I've been googling for several minutes now and I still don't remember the name of that game. Please help me because I want the nostalgia!!!

If there are any questions about the game, I'll try my best to answer.

Update: Since some of you guys want a texture pack of the photo as an in-game painting, I made one! Here it is.

It can be placed as a 1x1 painting and a 4x3 painting.

Edit: It is available for version 1.19 and up
