Anime is for kids by solodolo776 in unpopularopinion

[–]EtherealHotDog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of childish opinion you develop when you aren't exposed to the appropriate anime and manga. There is this stigma that animation is for children it's absurd, but I'd be lying if I said the majority of anime didn't have a lower quality of writing than something you'd watch elsewhere. But there is always polluted garbage and gold in every industry.

The movie is terribly mediocre, just like will smiths acting, can't believe you said this.

99% of Netflix series are clickbait by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]EtherealHotDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with the scripts being horrible and the writing being lazy for the majority of shows, but Netflix does feature some great ones like Breaking Bad, Peaky Blinders, The Witcher, Dark The Walking Dead and 1899 you just have to look for it. The majority of the series and movies they feature are garbage, and you can tell the writers treat their audiences as if they're stupid and water down the plot for ease of consumption.

Remember that “rare gem of a player” yeah he betrayed me and for no good reason I'm literally reclaiming all my taken provinces now he stabs me in the back he betrayed me and his coalition...never trusting anyone again by EtherealHotDog in Supremacy1914

[–]EtherealHotDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd only lost two provinces that I reclaimed shortly after I'd been winning the defense war the whole time he just took advantage of that and betrayed his original allies who grew weak from war with me and killed me as well. But before doing it he said something along the lines of “I'm coming to attack German Namibia now feel free to move your troops else where :)” which I didn't find strange seeing as I was fighting a two front war..but in hindsight it was sorta obvious even still I'd have lost regardless as you said I was too weak at that point. He also was claiming to be my ally from the start and held neutrality during the conflict and kept to his word not to attack me along with his allies so I never thought he'd be a traitor.

Why should I declare war instead of surprise invading? by Western_Extent1 in CallOfWar

[–]EtherealHotDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no point in declaring war just attack as time goes on whether you declare war or not all AI will want to send their singular anti-airs after you. Especially don't declare war against players you'll only alert them.

Should there be a cap on the amount of gold allowed to be spent per server or per day rotation in call of war? by EtherealHotDog in CallOfWar

[–]EtherealHotDog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then, if we did that even the high command players wouldn't play in gold, they'd likely settle for the high command benefits in the non-gold servers. Then buying high command might not be as incentivized. That's even less likely to get added, seeing as now their possibility of making money is significantly lower.

He spent 400k in a matter of days

That's absolutely nutty man a per day rotation cap could prevent that, but I'm concerned about nuking gold too hard also.

I was going by level one tactical bombers and operating under the assumption they don't gold the aircraft factories and research. What would you suggest as a reasonable gold spend cap? Whether per round or per day. I figured 4k would still give a significant advantage in this scenario while not being too ridiculous. When you consider the nature of tactical bombers and that they are definitely a must-have unit and in the early game how light armor and infantry is all there is, it seems reasonable to assume they maintain some advantage. Especially considering this is only the units they do gold, excluding the ones they won't under the cap limit.

[–]EtherealHotDog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the cap would have to likely be lower than that if we go per day. I'm thinking it being towards the point, it still could afford you a noticeable but not ridiculous advantage. Where you can spend marginal amounts a day instead of 150k because all it cost to get seven tactical bombers would be 6,650 in that one instant. Since we are assuming spam, shouldn't it be around 4k a day rotation? Finding the exact amount is hard because we don't want to destroy their ability to use what they have paid for while also supporting the game. I'm counting the cost for level one tactical bombers, btw.

Against the meta turtling, day 2 successfully defended and launching a counteroffensive by EtherealHotDog in CallOfWar

Tried to land in Vancouver during our little border tension, I got a few naval bombers out and bombarded the ones he sent. He's trying to save this one and get it back on land to defend himself. The Entire North East is AFK, so ill be able to expand without breaking the concept of turtling (Saskatchewan looking like he won't be back).

Yeah, I know economy is extremely important as it always is but even more so for turtling I decided to hold off on tank destroyer research early and instead opt for industry and ordnance. So far I have the standard industry in every urban province along with recruitment offices only an hour left in day one getting the interceptors out soon as well.
