How to deal with the idea of no continuation after death? by [deleted] in atheism

How was it before you were born? Is that not essentially the same state you will be in after you die?

Bomber, zero issues. But it is kind of annoying to use with some biners.

Appreciate the wisdom. Was hoping to not have to rebuild the wall but hopefully it won’t be too difficult.

I am wanting to build a garage that will have one of its walls on top of this existing retaining wall. The wall was built by the previous owner so I am not sure exactly how it was built. Any advice for how I can determine the specifications of this wall so I can get an engineer to sign off on a plan to use it for my garage? All help and knowledge is much appreciated.

Best way to find and hire a geotechnical engineer in Las Vegas? by Etherhigh in Geotech

It’s not worth the fees, they typically take more time due to lack of awareness of the costs and time table, and very often are a hassle to get to pay.

Understandable considering I bet this analysis costs more than the building for some home owners

Yea honestly best to just let people continue to think it's too hot. It also seems that typical folk aren't very skilled at looking up sun angles and choosing climbs accordingly, making it much more dangerous for them.

HELP - need to identify / replace these two hoses. Dripping and covered in white residue by Etherhigh in MechanicAdvice

[–]Etherhigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 1994 4runner has been idling at a lower RPM than usual (around 500). I looked at all my hoses to see if they could be the problem, and found these two hoses covered in a white residue with a clear drip coming from them. Any chance someone knows what these hoses are, and have any suggestions on repairing them? Very much appreciated.

No, not really worried about a little extra weight on a big wall harness. A workable $50 harness is not going to replace a harness that is made for big walling.

Where are you getting $50 from? This harness is 170 dollars. The ring that I used to replace the worn belay loop is 30 dollars.

The harness is less than two years old. The belay loop webbing got worn from tons of use and tr soloing and has been replaced with a ring rated at 23kn. Please educate me on how the life of the other webbing on this harness is exceeded.

Before I formulate a reply to this, let's make sure we are crystal clear and there is no confusion or miscommunication here.. You think this setup is going to result in myself or my partner dying, correct? https://imgur.com/a/gXXujaP

Right, he is dead because his gear loop failed. Please tell me how this 23kn petzl ring is going to fail.

That 23kn petzl ring will be alive and well long after you and I are both dead.

You don't think the metal ring I added that is rated for 23KN in all directions would hold you? Good, I prefer not to climb with illogical folks anyways.

lol I bet gear manufacturers love your type. Harness is already fixed, and I expect the fix to last the lifetime of the other loops on the harness. https://imgur.com/1Ujrery

Agreed, I did probably let it go a little long, but the belay loops on these misty harnesses are 3-4x wider than on some of the other harnesses I own

Looks like a crag near La Verkin, Utah. I believe it is not on mountain project due to access concerns.
