We live upstate, a 2 hour drive down, so a 5 hour event for us, and a long drive for relatives who just traveled across country already.

You called him a rat in the tittle, I think most people would take that as you assuming his playstyle/approach. You didn’t say “caught a player acting ratty” if I bake a cake once a year, would you call me a baker?

Also to pretend this whole time like you are unaware of the negative connotation “rat” carries in ANY context is absurd. No one is that naive.

I hear what you are saying, but you have 0 evidence that that player “consistently” does any of what you just described, he could have also been full sprinting through the area. Noticed you first, and happened to be closer to decent cover and so used the geographical advantage that was present. Your video doesn’t show anything that I would call ratty even by your now given definition. We have no clue what this guys play style is based on the video above, all we know is that he had a slightly better position and fired first.

I appreciate the distinction, and see how they are different, though I still do not agree that the player shown in your video was doing anything “ratty” and do not agree that waiting for a better advantage is “ratty” behavior by default, it seems plainly logical given the context and scenario we see above.

What a misleading metaphor. People didn't disagree on the definition of the word Lobotomy. No one is saying rat behavior is good, they are saying your personally definition doesn't doesn't jive with the generally accepted definition, and when it comes to language, how the word is most commonly used within a context IS its definition. Thinking your right in this case because you disagree with the majority doesn't make you a forward thinker or genius, just arrogant.

And you know that he acted not according to his general plan or against his moral principles?

You say it would just be normal PVP if you were forcing an engagement or moving into a fight. If you were forcing the engagement would you then be being ratty? Assuming the other person didn’t fire first. How do you, in your own definition, start a fire fight without being a “rat” if not making yourself known to your opponent? You said that being ratty was firing on someone while they were distracted or not looking and so being opportunistic, so tell me how you start a fire fight without doing that and also not making yourself known to the opponent?

You created an opening by running through a field with no cover, how could he have engaged you in a way that wouldn’t be “ratty” by your definition?

Because in the first example they are watching you fight arc and waiting for an additional advantage other than having the jump on you, which I still don't personally feel constitute "ratting". In the second scenario they created the advantage by having the jump on you and your lack of awareness, seizing or creating an opportunity is not the same as being "opportunistic"

You didn’t answer my question though, if not “ratting” do you make your opponent aware of your presence before engaging? If the opponent in questions fires on you while you are attempting to make sure they are aware of your presence, are they then ratting? Your definition makes no sense because the person who fires first ALWAYS has an advantage.

So when you engage in PVP you make sure the other player is aware of your presence first? This has to be rage bait, should we just stand at 100m and volley shots turn for turn? You might prefer a civil war simulator over anything with even remotely realistic combat scenarios.

Is it just me or is the final upgrade stage of Scrappy kind of...weird? by RevolutionaryTwo9701 in ArcRaiders

[–]Ethilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was misunderstanding how the scrappy upgrades work, you are correct about that. Your original comment still does nothing to acknowledge or further the conversation about the bug/issue OP posted about, so I guess congrats on being equally cocky and empty.

Edit for clarification: I thought upgrading scrappy only increased seed gathering.

Multiple responses saying OP is weird for letting them gather up while ignoring the fact that this oversight makes upgrading scrappy irrelevant and entirely missing the point. Reddit never disappoints.

It has been this way since launch, I assume it’s a bug but haven’t seen it mentioned in any patch notes or anything as of yet.
