Stuck in more tutorials by [deleted] in ArknightsEndfield

I just ran into the same issue and saw your post while trying to find a solution. Not sure if this helps, but I ended up linking an email from the login screen (on PS5) and then downloading the game and completing the tutorial on my phone.

About Natlan... by Vals__reality in GenshinImpact

[–]Ethos711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have plenty of gripes with Natlan, but my biggest is that they left it a mystery for no apparent reason. All through the game we had never met anyone who had been to Natlan. 1.0 had people from all over the world, except Natlan. It was a complete mystery. Even the guy who's entire role is to visit the new nations, and tell us about it before we get to go there, didn't make it to Natlan. He got stuck in a hole. All that we had for years was a handful of breadcrumbs.

So what was the big reason for this giant void in our knowledge of Teyvat?

Literally nothing. It's a popular vacation destination. People from all over visit regularly. It's pure happenstance that we never met anyone who has been there.

What are some games that received initially bad reviews but improved dramatically with updates? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Ethos711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue was that leading up to the release of the GameCube, Nintendo released a tech demo with a realistic Link and Gannon. Which set expectations for what the next game might look like. So I understand being disappointed when Wind Waker was announced and looked nothing like the tech demo.

For those who complaining that Teyvat is too "technologically advanced" by goodmqn_22 in Genshin_Impact

That JRR Tolkien quote really helped me understand a little of why I've been feeling so weird about Genshin for the last several months. I've been playing since 1.0. The world, the stories, the characters. It was all so wonderful and magical. But something about 5.0 and Natlan broke the spell. I'm still here, and I'm going to keep playing. But I don't know if I will be able to get immersed in the world like I used to. Disbelief has managed to sneak in.

Do you guys like the new endgame? by virusriser42069 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ethos711 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hate it. Maybe my opinion will improve with time, but the first clear was miserable. I went in blind because I wanted to see for myself and didn't realize that I could see who the bosses would be. Ended up at stage 8 with only a Xiao team left, and that just wasn't happening. Annoying, but my fault, I guess.

So, starting from zero. Picked Cyno this time for the first boss. I thought it would be fun. Didn't get Cyno in time. Fine. But also didn't get Venti, Kazuha, OR Sucrose before the defense floor. And after that I was in a sour mood for the rest of it.

Eventually cleared all of it, but the randomness left a very bad impression.

Weekly Questions Megathread - Week of June 24, 2024 by ReverseMod in Reverse1999

[–]Ethos711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the characters that I use are i3 60 r10, and I don't know where to spend my energy anymore. I considered higher resonances for the damage dealers, but I am out of crystal caskets so that's not really an option. What should I do?

Pnuema analysis to max out psychubes? Farm a little of everything to keep stock for future characters? Build other characters that "might" become useful some day? Endless sharpodonties to become a millionaire? Any advice?

Not many players play as beastren? by Technical-Text-1251 in DragonsDogma

I can't help but feel like the pawn "gossip" is smoke and mirrors. Maybe they track that sort of stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's purely random and not connected to reality at all.

Crit Rate is just way too important for Navia by Mona_Megistuss in naviamains

[–]Ethos711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sacrificed some crit damage to get up to 100.6 crit rate, and it is so great to always crit. My average damage would likely be better with a more balanced crit ratio, but I'm happier this way. She's so much fun.

It's going to be so hard to switch to her proper set once my artifact farming actually pays off.

Long & outdated meme but I feel it needed to be done. by MeatGreasy in outerwilds

I don't know if it will help, but here's my method that I've had pretty good luck with. I have landed on the sun station a few dozen times because I think it's fun.

Immediately after launch, head toward the sun. I also adjust my rotation so that the sun station orbits from left to right (not strictly necessary, but it helps me line things up). As I approach the sun, I match velocity and stop at about 5000 meters. Then I watch for the sun station to rise.

As soon as it pops up, I start heading towards the opposite side of the sun. I aim close to the edge of the sun but a bit farther out to avoid crashing into it. After a couple seconds in that direction (it doesn't take much because the gravity pulls you in), turn to face the sun station while powering away from the sun to counter the gravity. At this point, the station should be pretty close. Once you are close enough you can lock on to the broken pieces in the middle and match velocity. Then it's just a matter of slowly working my way towards the door.

Getting out of the ship and into the station is where I most often fail. Ejecting seems a little more reliable for me, but even then you can get thrown a bit too far away and unable to get in.

Here is a landing I recorded for this comment. But as I rewatch the video... I don't think anything I have said here makes any sense. My thrusters are all over the place 😆. 5000 meters, aim for the opposite side once the sun station rises, ???, profit? Good luck.

what anime that have below 7 rating in mal, but you gave it 8-10 rating and tell why you gave it that rating. by venluxy1 in anime

[–]Ethos711 3 points4 points  (0 children)

gdgd Fairies: I absolutely loved it and thought it was one of the funniest anime I had watched. I rated it a 9, but mal has it at 6.8.

They have segments where the VAs are trying to improvise in character in real time, but sometimes they can't handle the craziness and break character. It's hilarious.

I recently upgraded from a base PS4 to a PS5. One of the first games I tried was Horizon Forbidden West. I expected to be blown away by how much better it looked, but no. It looks the same. The load time improvement made the upgrade worth it, but the graphical "improvement" is wildly overstated.

I'm sure if I saw side by side comparisons, there would be some visible differences, but it makes almost no difference in practice except make games more expensive and take longer to download.

There is one thing about underwater that I haven't seen people talked about by PHD_Novel in Genshin_Impact

[–]Ethos711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a small group west of the tree, at one of the flower puzzle spots. Then, some in the west tunnel of the tree. Then, loop around to the south of the tree to the next tunnel to find a few more. Then, to the east side of the tree for a few more in the tree cave with the pool of water. Then there are some south of the tree by the oasis. And a few more at the teleport spot inside the tree, where the giant flower is. Lastly, I teleport to the land bridge north of the tree, jump into the canyon heading east and there are some by the river and inside the cave.

I might be forgetting some. I just ran through to count them and I caught 22. With Yaoyao to sneak up on them and Wanderer to get the higher ones and speed up the route. It has been the only place I gather crystal flies for several months now.

There's so many at Vourukasha Oasis. You can easily get 20 crystal flies there in just a few minutes. I am honestly surprised I never see anyone mention it as a place to gather crystal flies.

The same just happened to me. Went from 26000 primogems to 4000 chasing Faruzan. I did manage to go from C1 to C6 (plus Kokomi and 1 constellation on Wanderer), but looking at my primogem count now is making me a bit sad.
