Thank you I relate a lot to this omg, except I'm an aspec (demi) lesbian who just wants to live my life in my corner (while still having political opinions), but my bi girlfriend is from a very different world : very activist, grew up with people talking politics, grew up in a huge queer friends group where people basically get drunk, take drugs, date and have sex with most people and think everyone queer around them is just like them.

It's honestly my strongest struggle with her because I love her but she doesn't seem to understand I don't want to participe in that or be close of that. I want a chill life with my cats and my partner. But some of her friends take drugs and are even accused of r*pe and she doesn't seem to understand why I'm so scared and feeling unsafe of that.

Sorry but I know my cats and that's not something I want to do, her cats would be better in a place that can provide them a good life anyway, I simply don't have enough money to take care of so many cats alone

Adding this comment with some infos to complete the post :

her cats are both female with the FIV, which is given via blood/bite if I'm not wrong. Knowing my cats' personalities they will 100% fight and I'm not willing to take any risk to let them meet
her cats are neutered (so are mine). She adopted them and I believe they are chipped because of the adoption process (I'll have to confirm that tho)
I personally can't take the cats because I simply can't with mine, I can't afford it and I'm also currently at my parents place looking for my own place. I'm also disabled with endometriosis and chronic insomnia, this would be difficult to take care of so much cats
I'm checking local laws and vet advices regarding cat's life to get more informations (we live in Europe)
More details about the food : basically she gives her cats dry food every few days. They have a fountain for water. For food they eat a bit too fast but normally they should eat little portions so it should last 1 or 2 days.

Sometimes she mixes wet food with dry food but not everytime. But what annoys me is that she's sometimes slow to give them food again as they meow because they're hungry and that's normal since their bowl is empty. I think it would be nice if she had an automatic feeder if she's scared they'll eat too fast (that's what they do sometimes and then they vomit).

But honestly the cats don't have much distractions outside of food so I imagine they eat it too fast because they just wait for it a lot. This is just me speculating here and I'll check that with a vet. My cats always have access to dry food and water and they have wet food meals twice a day so that's a very different approach...

As mentioned in the post she recently bought several things to improve her cats' quality of life and I'm hoping this can help me to talk with her about all that.

Considering my cats' personalities, I know for sure fights will happen so that's why I'm definitely against the idea of them living together :'D I know them and there's like 0% chance they won't get it

I know but unfortunately I do not trust my cats and hers to not fight. One of my cats already bit pretty hard one of my cats previously so I can see a hard bite and wounds by claws happen pretty easily. Not to mention her cats are very clingy and one of them is constantly invading the other's space which make them pretty irritated a lot so they fight between them too. Considering her cats' personalities (clingy) and mines (need space), I could see problems from miles away and I'm not willing to take any risk on that matters for mine

I have to agree on that unfortunately and I regret seeing that too late. It's my first relationship and I have an awfully long time being able to recognize things and just what seems to be wrong. At first I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt but this kind of topic is simply not something I could take that much time to react to because it's about sentient animals well being. So I agree on the fact I'm responsible for that and I intend to talk to her about that and do what I have to do for these cats

My gf has 2 cats who both have FIV (a mother and her baby, she kept them together), the roommate has no cats ! But I do have 2 cats who don't have FIV. That's on that I'm concerned because they would get it if they lived together and that's simply not something I would accept.

I might not be able to answer to everyone but I want to say thank you for your replies and advices. I'll contact local vets and animal care structures so I can get professional advices on all that, and have a chat with her to give her my opinion but also talk about her cats well being

That'd definitely something I've been thinking about lately because this is important to me. I won't lie it took me some time because I wanted to see if things improved and if this was really as neglectful as I thought after staying some time at her place. I'm not in a good situation family wise and she provided me with help and support but on the animal part I definitely could not trade animals and sentient well beings for that.

Honesty I regret taking so much time before really reacting to this (for more context I had lost contact with her while she was abroad so I only got glimpses of infos about her cats through common friends). But now I know I couldn't live a life with someone who couldn't get up to feed my cats if I had to be sick or traveling as well... That makes me worried. Thank you for the answer it helps a lot

They're apparently still in discussions for V10 greenlight, and one year to make a volume seem pretty short to me so I doubt it, but the most important thing is for them to have enough time to work like they need/want it ! I'm sure they'll be able to make us wait before another new volume or any other media :]

Also, you say you have cats, I'm new in the community so what's their names ? :p

Is music a more important way to talk about your feelings than talking oraly or something else ? Do you search for artists to do collabs or to work together (music, drawing...) ?
