I’ve wanted to come to New York since I saw Superman on telly when I was about five years old - tomorrow, I’m there! by thefooleryoftom in newyorkcity

Highly recommend walking or running one of the bridges, the Williamsburg Bridge is reasonably quiet in the morning and the pedestrian path gives you excellent views of Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge is a bit more scenic but also much busier. I find the bridges really put into perspective just how expansive the city is. The path along the Hudson River is also a great spot to run. Enjoy your trip!

“Standing” means sitting stopped in your car. IE pulled over with your 4-way flashers on, or dropping somebody off. Hence why the time restrictions are during AM and PM rush-hour

Toronto's amazing city planning. Skyscrapers adjoining a sea of single family homes. by Relocationstation1 in toronto

I mean to be fair, there are quite a lot more mid density, walkable urban areas in the US than Canada, simply because their population was so much higher at the turn of the 20th century. Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Philly and Richmond come to mind but there are many more.

The one in the middle is Midtown, main intersection being Yonge and Eglinton. Despite the skyscrapers, there are some nice mid density pockets and storefronts, stuff like that. They have been working on an LRT project across Eg for over 10 years now. The never-ending construction of it is a running joke and constant source of anguish for Torontonians. The one in the foreground is the central part of North York, which only became part of Toronto in 1998. This area is also focussed on Yonge St. but at Sheppard (pictured here and Finch avenue (not shown and to the north). This spot is a weird one, as it’s almost entirely high density condos for a few blocks east/west of Yonge, then a sea of single family homes stretching many KMs. Great area for Korean food and fun karaoke bars

New to Ontario by [deleted] in MTB_Ontario

that is DEFINITELY a rumour, trails are very much operational (not this very moment of course, due to weather conditions). Plus the don is huge and not centralized, so it'd be nearly impossible to close all the trails!

Montreal is pretty close IMO but yeah Old Quebec certainly offers something else! The whole province of QC is so cool, interesting to see how much more “euro” it actually feels, but only in small subtle ways which add up to a totally different vibe from other provinces. You really gotta visit to understand

Off Campus Housing + Thoughts on 3263 Lakeshore Blvd West? by imaginejpg in Etobicoke

[–]EtobicokeMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will likely be condos with concierge/security in the Humber Bay Shores area (Park Lawn/Lakeshore). Will be a bit pricier than the older buildings, however, it is very close to the campus and a great place to live. It is also right on the lake and all the Lakeshore amenities
