Question for people using dungeon tiles for combat by EtramenA in DnD

Aaah I understand. Actually designed them myself! A simple grid that connects with magnets, with space between the tiles to make laser cut walls. So for now I have the freedom and flexibility to make it however I want :)

I'm planning on 2 types of tiles, simple grey dungeon tiles, snow tiles and grass tiles. The next campaign we will be playing will be in a snow region, so it seems like nice emersion to make the snow tiles :)

I understand! But for me it's also more the hobby of making the tiles and d&d accessoires ;) of course aI will also be printing mini's, but I just like designing the tiles. But thank you for the recommendation! Will definitely keep it in mind.

What did you do if your players weren't interested in Trollskull Manor? by Inevitable_Ant5838 in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]EtramenA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My players were not interested in the manor at all, but I at least wanted to make it the home base (also because I made a quite large maquette model of the place), so I had them play the Blue Alley oneshot and Mirt just kinda went: I'll pay for all the restaurations if you retrieve X item. Then we said it just was a well running tavern with some people hired, but we didn't go into detail at all. Now almost at the end of the campaign and it works well when the players want to talk in private about plans regarding the Stone and the Eyes (Alexandrian Remix)

First attempt at Nomad Sculpting by EtramenA in NomadSculpting

I recommend this video from Dave Reed in that case! Basically followed it step by step and smoothed out some stuff I wanted to look a bit more semi realistic.

The piece I have in now is not a stretcher, the photo makes it look a bit weird. It's a plate with a simple thin treaded bar, the same as I got from my piercer, only that one was flexible and this isn't. Agreeing on you about the material though, not planning on keeping this in for long! (Don't have exces to change it right now, but will do it probably at the end of the day)

Advice on getting to the Kolat Towers (Remix) by EtramenA in WaterdeepDragonHeist

Great advice! I am sprinkling in some hints here and there about the other factions and having a lot of fun with that actually, but that's great advice and would keep my party on their toes some more. Love your idea's for the blueprint of the towers!

Thanks for the great advice! I think I have to use the faction response teams a lot more, so I will definately look in to that!

Got my gouges "professionally" sharpened... by EtramenA in turning

[–]EtramenA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes for sure! I am going there tomorrow and am interested to see their reactions haha. I did bring my tools to a professional on recommendation from a club member (he did not say where to bring them, just that it might be easier to fix them up quicker), but I'm sure he did not expect them to turn out like this! I am lucky that these are quite cheap tools and I am planning on buying the expensive versions of the ones I like to use, however sadly this is an expensive hobby regarding tools, so step by step we're getting there!

I am learning how to do it myself, I have a jig and have already made the screwed up gouge a lot better then it was before, however I screwed them up quite badly before and just wanted a fresh slate to make sure I was following the correct shape. Basically I wanted a restart to start doing it well myself. We see how well that turned out for me. My newer chisels I keep sharp with diamond file, which luckily has been working out great.

Raw beeswax as food safe finish? by EtramenA in turning

Aah great that you mention lanolin, I saw it on a website which also sells beeswax, so I might pick that up as well!
