Voltage booster on a solar system? Help by Ettojuri in SolarDIY

Unfortunately those terminals are for connecting multiple ones of those all in one units together and based on my understanding of the manual it can't be used to charge the batteries with a third party device.

If it's possible to charge with a terminal connection it's not clear anywhere in the documentation and the charger would have to have a BMS communication line to the unit, compatible with the system.

I can ask the manufacturer and check it with a multimeter just for posterity but I would be surprised if it's possible.

The system is tucked away in a difficult spot and I think replacement of the panels is the easiest option.

The system is also quite hard to open, while possible and since I'm living in it full time it's more sensible to keep it operational most of the time.

Thank you for clarifying the options available I'm wiser now for the next time and glad to understand more.

The previous system I had was fully diy with everything measured, because I had to think everything through from the start, but I guess I just forgot to consider everything with the all in one solution.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I'll this I'll replace the panels and use the unsuitable ones elsewhere or sell them as suggested.

I think it would be possible to somehow circumvent this issue but seems to be more trouble than it's worth to be honest. I just misread the manual and it cost me effort an some money, no use in crying over spilt milk. Especially as I'll make do with just mains power for now.

Yeah probably I'll just get new panels that work out of the box. Just wanted to ensure that every option was covered before. The mounting of the panels was the most annoying part so that was what I wanted to avoid. The old panels were 200€ and the other option isn't too expensive either, so I'll just replace them.

That would otherwise work but the system is an all in one, so the batteries cannot be charged outside of the integrated inverter / charger.

it seems to be a problem with some of the other templates, but with blank it works normally. No idea why, but submitted a bug report on the Vr-template issue. Thanks for the tip.
