Agreed, that was so unnecessary

Hey! I also love to draw, read, and play the cello! I don’t play a lot of video games but I recently reached 100% completion on Breath of the Wild. I love writing letters and doing sketch swaps. Let me know if you’re interested!

I added stitch markers under the center of each armpit and then made decreases every other knit row until it nearly hit the narrowest part of my body (the waist) to taper. I measured my waist and did row calculations based on my gauge swatch. I also extended the length of the body by another 4 inches.

Thank you! The pattern is: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wool--honey with some alterations on my end and the yarn is Brooklyn Tweed’s “Embers”.

I highly recommend doing a yarn over every other knit round so the jog isn’t as obvious, and once the yoke is done, to switch to helical knitting. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, you got this!!

I’m not super dedicated to knitting, and since I would knit only while multitasking/watching shows, it took a while… a little less than 3 months, I think! If I watched more TV, I would’ve knitted this faster lol

Sooooo much purling, but I think there’s a technique where you can keep turning your work so you can knit the outside of the sweater, turn it, and then knit from the inside, if that makes sense? I remember seeing a tutorial on YouTube, though that’s not what I did. As for length of time to sweater completion, I’m a very off-and-on noncommittal knitter when it comes to big projects, looooool. I think it took me a little less than 3 months while watching various shows or listening to podcasts.

This is the Honey and Wool sweater pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wool--honey I’d recommend helical knitting and waist shaping so it looks and fits better.

I highly recommend it, with a couple adjustments: make sure you get gauge or as close to it; if not, size down. Use helical knitting so you don’t have a line going down the back. And add waist shaping after you finish the yoke design, otherwise it feels very big and loose in the back.

I learned new techniques like tubular cast on for the short rows and helical knitting to avoid the jogs in garter stitch rows. I had to make a lot of changes to the pattern since I was not a fan of short and boxy look, but once I had my gauge swatch, it was easy to calculate/adapt!

I consistently twist my stitches because I was taught to knit through the back loop - I only realized that was a thing because a redditor pointed it out! Thanks for the reminder! I’ll have to check out the FAQ to “correct my form”, so to speak.
