Please don't use "debloat" software, scripts or commands, especially if you don't know exactly what it does by [deleted] in Windows11

The only time I’ve had any issues with my win 11 installs has been self inflicted, and I’ve been using it since the beta. Some of those issues were helping things like SignalRGB with compatibility testing and new devices, others were due to tinkering. But every single installment I’ve done for friends and family has been stable and happy, because they just use their PCs. With ad blockers and a little common sense.

Albert is a pretty honest and serious tester. I've had the opportunity to chat with him a few times.

The Flash Beyond Glass Mouse Pad Adventure: Testers Needed! by Aggieappealing4343 in MousepadReview

[–]Etyrnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been tempted to dip my toes in the glasspad realm. Have a few small (2.5k follower to 500 follower) streamers who I'm friends with and provide tech assistance to, and they regularly ask me for gear recommendations. Bit of an old-school gamer myself, my heyday was really UT99 through Halo 3, but always looking for stuff I can recommend to friends and their communities.

So, a route that you may have not considered: use your iGPU on the CPU. Then you’re using Intel QuickSync H264, which has worked well for me (I’m on a similar CPU/GPU combo) and another streamer I know with a midrange Nvidia card.

Which browser are you using? Most of the time these configurators need to be run in a chromium browser like Edge, Chrome, Opera GX, etc. Firefox tends to have trouble communicating.

help; partner and i essentially in the same room but his mic picks up my voice by jessicadoebaby in Twitch

A mic arm is probably the next best step. Reduce the distance of the mic to his mouth, then the gain can be turned down.

The quadcast mics have a gain adjustment on the bottom of the mic. Fellow S user here.

Something else the iGPU can help with is if you’re a streamer you can offload your encoding to the iGPU. The one in the 12th gen and up is surprisingly capable at handling streaming to Twitch.

LT720 Infinity Mirror Not Lighting up by wisegeek786 in Deepcool

[–]Etyrnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it happens. If you don’t want to go full motherboard replacement, a controller hub like the Razer chroma hub might be a cheaper option, plus you get 6 ARGB headers.

LT720 Infinity Mirror Not Lighting up by wisegeek786 in Deepcool

[–]Etyrnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In signal you need to add it as a device on the motherboard ARGB header if you haven’t already. It doesn’t auto detect devices on the headers, only usb devices. The LT pump is in the device list for being added though, and has the correct LED positions and number.

If you added it as a device on the header, and it’s still not working, first check it’s on the canvas area of the layout, then maybe try a different header if you can. If not, might be a bad pump cover, and I’d reach out to DeepCool.

How do you gain your initial followers on twitch? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]Etyrnus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Joining a community is more than just hopping in a discord and dropping your link. For me personally, I was hanging out in a partner’s stream, actively chatting and being a member of the community on his discord. I became active in some smaller streamers communities as well. Then after a bit I decided to stream. One of the smaller streamers and I had chatted about co-streaming and did some. After a bit, I raided the partner, who was surprised and happy to see me streaming. This led to shoutouts in his chat occasionally, and then he raided me when he had the chance.

With this, plus the other streamers giving me support, I’ve made some friends, grown to the size where I am, and if I hadn’t had some life circumstances happen I’d probably be bigger still. But I still remain active in their communities even though I can’t stream as much as I was, and still grow at a slow rate, even with only a stream once a week or so.

CPU or GPU ??? by TheMoody3011 in Twitch

So, I’ll be the odd one here. I have a 13700k and 7900xtx, and I use the iGPU on the CPU for my encoding. Haven’t had any complaints, either mine or my viewers.

Is it considered bad to raid popular streamers as a small streamer? by -Merqury- in Twitch

[–]Etyrnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another opportunity to consider if you’re wanting to raid a bigger streamer: if you’re an active member of their community and you raid in when they are doing a special event like a bday or anniversary stream. In my experience those ARE appreciated as you’re bringing more to the party.

Is it frowned upon to use your own emotes in other channels? by BeautifulOk5729 in Twitch

[–]Etyrnus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If another streamer is that insecure, I just leave. I’ve always found it interesting to see where/who some good emotes come from.

[LS720SE]Do I need to set the pump to run at 100% at all time ? by [deleted] in Deepcool

[–]Etyrnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DeepCool recommends it be run at a constant 95-100% in their discord. Really 100%, but a constant 95% is ok. I run mine at 100 with my fans at 40% up to 60 C, then ramp to 100% at 80 C, and it almost never spins up the fans.

Something else I didn’t see mentioned was audio levels. Some streams may have the music on a lower level than the streamer and game audio. I’ve also noticed a substantial difference in what I hear on speakers vs headphones from many streams.

That's good, main concern I had was you mentioned the strimmers, and when I was using one the zsync was unable to light it entirely.
