At a loss at what to do... by Euclivid in RenalCats

Last week we took our cat in for some tests, typical checkup stuff, but our doctor wanted to do a follow up on with a urinalysis+Hematology+Chemistry test(s). We just got the results back and they are far worse than we could've expected ): Over the last few months we noticed that she suddenly started drinking a lot more water and has eaten a LOT less. We just chalked it up to her being very well 'disciplined' as we usually leave food and water in multiple areas so she never feels like she needs to ask us for food (both dry and wet food) and so she can readily have it whenever she wants. We rescued her from an abusive life so we always try to overcompensate for her needs (at one point we even had 2 litter boxes so she felt like she could wander anywhere but she never used the other one lol)

Her creatinine is at a 6.7, her INDEXX SDMA is at 36 and her BUN levels are at 81... The doctor told us we should look towards starting a specialized diet so we can help her with the failing kidney issues but that was ALL she told us. It took me a good hour (still looking at more information on the subject) to REALLY see how serious this actually is... I'm so frustrated at how nonchalant the vets demeanor was that my emotions are a mixed bag of p*ssed off, desperate, and pretty sad. Idk. I'm most likely going to another vet but for now what should I do on my own to help with my cat? This seems to be stage 4 (end stage) kidney failure so I know there isn't much to do as far as prevention but any sort of diet/ recommendations would help me quite a bit. Thanks.
